I think that despite doing stupid shite every now and then, like giving up the Minnesota miracle and escorting Tony Pollard to the endzone. Marcus Williams is a top 5 safety and a critical component to this secondary. Gonna be hard to keep him since he'll want top money. What you guys think the chances are we keep him? I say 40%

I think M Will has improved a lot; but I’d rather draft a safety or pursue a cheaper one. Our cap sheet is not in a great spot and I don’t think allocating 8-9% of our cap to a safety who has some major gamebreaking frick ups is not the best use of our money. I’d rather get compensatory draft picks for him and use the money saved on a legit receiver or tight end.

60% we keep him though since our head coach is the old D Coordinator.

He will be a Saint. I would bet on it.

90%

He’s too good and in his prime. You just can’t let players like that go.

He’s one of the top coverage safeties in the NFL. Go back in time before MW and remember our deep plays we gave up, multiple times a game. Now think about how many big plays deep we give up, MW is a big reason. He can also intercept a pass that our prior safeties since Mr Rapey couldn’t do. You resign MW. Plus he’s still young and FSs can last awhile in this league

This just pisses me off. Not only do you not tackle the guy, you tackle the only other guy with a shot of tackling him.

I'll never be convinced that he did his best to hit the guy. It really looks like he missed him on purpose.

are you aware that he made the INT that even had the Saints in that game to begin with?

No clue.

I mean what if a top tier QB wants to come on down but MW's salary is in the way

51/49 from a bourbon soaked chair in P'cola.

Okay since he did his job well on one play that gave him the right to have the biggest open field choke in history?

Let him walk. I’d rather save that money for a QB. We can’t keep everyone.

Marcus Williams is a pussy

We need to move on for the culcha

He had a few soft arse attempts this year that cost us.

He is who he is. A good cover saftey but an absolute liability when it comes to an open field tackle.

Find someone else

Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up on the Bengals. These former Saints players that need to get paid seem to gravitate there.

He said he was trying not to get a penalty.

Makes no sense but that’s what he said.

I think both Marcus and Armstead will be gone.

There are at least 10 NFL teams with a surplus of $40 to $70 million to spend on FA. Both players are arguably the top available FA prospects at their respective positions.

There will be bidding wars for both. Loomis is already $70 million OVER the cap, and this is without either Williams or Armstead..or a competent QB signed.

Marcus Williams made our D go.

If we keep the same system, he's real important.

We can't run the type of aggressive man that we do without a guy like MW there to bail us out, and guys like MW are super rare.

He was a rookie second round pick...shite happens. He has been a top 5 safety in this league for the last three years get over it.
