What are our thoughts about the NFC South this year?

Last year the NFC South was clearly the worst division in the NFL. Going into the year, I think there are 2-3 divisions that are worse off- AFC south (worst), NFC north, and NFC west.
This will affect the Saints bc even if they start out well, we are not going to be taken seriously (which I’m fine with).
My concerns within the division are:
Falcons- I’m concerned that they will bench Ridder early on and turn to Heinke. I think Heinke has the experience to use their offensive weapons well.
Panthers- good coaching staff and tough defense makes for a frustrating team to play.
Bucs- lots of leftover, veteran talent and a coach who knows he’s fired after this year if they don’t show life. It’s his 2nd head coach gig and so he knows he won’t get another head coach job if he’s fired wo success (same goes for Saints DA).

Likely the AFC South followed by the NFC West look to be the weakest divisions this year. It will be a big disappointment if we don't take the NFC South but your division opponents typically play us tough. I think we're set to make a run if we utilize our talent and get some breaks injury wise.

The 9ers and Seahawks are both likely better than anyone in our division. Seattle has really stacked that roster since trading Wilson. I’d say the rams are likely better than 3 nfc south teams as well.

I think they done a good job but there were some games Geno Smith looked like his old self.
He's surrounded by talent though so if the blocking is there, they'll hurt teams.

I do not know why I typed that in there. I meant to put down the NFC North. Vegas is expecting a big drop off of the Vikings this year due to strength of schedule and other factors some even saying they could be a .500 team and I tend to agree. Also a declining Green Bay.

The NFC South is trash again, with us being kings of the shite pile.
If we can’t stop the run, the falcons will win the division. If we can, we win it easily.
We will then get bounced pretty quickly from the playoffs.

Saints have far and away the best QB in the division. DA has to win the division.

Yeah I think the Jags should take that division pretty easily if Pederson helps Lawrence continue to grow. They have a pretty loaded young roster with all the years they picked early. Just seems like a great fit.

I debated whether to list them. I agree that I could easily see 9ers and Seattle making playoffs. I can also see the QB position making the 9ers inconsistent and Geno playing like he has most of his career. I think the Rams fall apart and the Cards are actively tanking.

i think the Falcons will try and be a ball control team and not really need Ridder to do all that much. And if he doesn't play well, here comes Heinke. I don't think their D-line is scaring anyone. I want to say they are all over 30 years old 
But they got Ellis from the Saints and Bates from the Bengals.
Carolina it will come down to how will they embrace the new coaching staff. Once Ruhle got fired and they traded CMC last year, that was when they actually started fighting for real. But then decided to move on from Steve Wilks and now he's the DC for the 49ers.
In both games against the Bucs last year, I thought we choked those games away. They lose Brady so obviously that is going to be their biggest issue. Their O-line was garbage last year and Brady was getting rid of the ball as fast as he could. They couldn't run the ball either. But like you said, they do have some talent on that team still and will probably be a pain in the arse to play twice.

Interesting. I think the Lions can take a step forward if Goff plays well again. I also think Jordan Love will be more than serviceable and be able to bring life to the Packers. The NFC North QB’s blow away the NFC South QB’s

Saints gonna have to win division to make playoffs because if they can't they are having a bad yr because they should be the best of division because of QB position. Others in division will have pretty good defenses but QB will be deciding difference in division winner and making playoffs, too many other divisions with better teams overall. NFC South will get 1 team in playoffs and that will be division winner.
