Odd to scapegoat Rattler given the penalties and the receivers inability to do anything.

And? That’s ok.

But also they are doing the right thing letting Shough sit a few.

No it's not. There's a long history of young QBs who have failed & been broken because they forced into playing before they were ever even close to being ready to play. The percentages consistently show that is the wrong path to take.

Irony

What sample size do you need for Rattler? He’s started 7.

20? 50?

Does he have to have the 1995 Cowboys offensive line in front of him?

Has he shown you that he is a legitimate NFL starting QB?

Yes I know. I’m the one that’s been arguing for months that Shough should not start until week 5.

I’m saying it’s ok for a rookie to make mistakes.

I don’t care who the QB is, but he’s played well enough to win this game. No one is open, there is no time to throw. Without the missed FG and penalties, we’d be in this.

You’re just speaking like someone else if going to elevate the offense. Rattler is like the 10th thing wrong with the game today

This loss is not on Rattler. This was a team loss with penalties and coaching.

The sample size of 1st year QBs who were forced into play too soon & ruined is enormous. Shough being thrown in behind this sloppy offensive line & lack of talent at WR will crush him but his own Stans are too stupid to even realize that.

Game 5.

That’s my thought. Defensive will be tough next week against SF. Then 2 road games @Sea & @Buff. Let Shough begin his career against NYG

This thread is not arguing to start Shough next week.

Just that we know what Rattler is now. He’s fine but nothing beyond that.

How can anyone say this as a definite when the offensive line consistently makes mistakes & penalties putting the QB in a bind along with a significant lack of talent at the skill positions? An elite QB would have struggled with this skill position group today along with all the penalties that put the offense in long arse down & distances. People are being completely irrational surrounding everything involving this team especially the QB position.

Because he’s started 7 games.

Once again I ask you:
How many games are necessary?

What perfect roster do we need to make the determination?

But he’s nothing beyond that. He cannot get the ball moving down the field.

He just led yet another game tying drive (receiver dropped a PERFRCT Brees type pass). Redskins last year, preseason, just now.

You gave a simply biased take.

Exactly right. He can’t get you more than 14-17 points. Career Backup

And 7 games surrounded by subpar skill position players & an offensive line that can't seem to consistently understand the snap count or not hold.

Rattler is the most "experienced" QB on the roster & his still extremely young & inexperienced himself. It's mind blowing how so many are quick to write him off as a young QB for an even more inexperienced QB especially an inexperienced QB who wasn't an early 1st round, can't miss QB. There's been plenty of more talented, "can't miss" early 1st rounders who failed spectacularly because they were thrown to the wolves by franchises with piss poor rosters around them. This "just throw a young QB out there to see what you have" is beyond stupid & usually causes WAY more harm than good.

At the very least, you have to wait until you have better offensive line play to where the offense is not constantly in extremely long down & distances. You wanna see a real disaster? Put Shough out there dealing with that so DC's could really be aggressive & throw the kitchen sink at Shough. I guarantee you that shite will be ugly.

How do you know unless Shough actually plays. You don’t. Nobody does. But it sure would be nice to see because we not going anywhere anyway.

So Rattler, needs to block, catch, run, coach, make defensive plays like turnovers etc, and throw TDs to win? Damn. You right he does suck.
