You're right. If the kid isn't a perennial Pro Bowler you deserve a swift kick in the nuts. And if he gets consistently burned, you deserve your tongue cut out.

I'll take that as an admission that you had no clue what you were talking about.

No, I could continue to argue with you but you're obviously aren't going to change your mind about a slow safety that plays in the box. You're describing Roman Harper. Even if my analysis is wrong, that should worry you.

As an LSU alum, I really wasn't aware of the SEC bias that surrounds me. Guess I'm just so emerged in it, I don't see it.

Funny how all the board experts had Reid and Elam rated so much higher than Vacarro, a complete opposite from all of people paid big money to cover football for a living.

So now he's a slow safety that plays in the box? I thought he was a nickle corner who's ceiling was Jenkins.

Right Every safety has to either be Jenkins or Harper.

You are trolling. I don't like the pick, but you can't be this short sighted.

He is a slow safety who played the Nickel and close to the line. He played a lot of coverage and got burned quite a bit too over the top.

Who does that remind you of.

He's not slow, he just doesn't have great top end speed. He has good instincts, takes good angles, and is good at changing direction. I'll take it.

Why should I trust your analysis now when 5 minutes ago you said he hasn't played safety since his freshman year?

I don't know, who? Harper or Jenkins? At least pick one if you want to make a point.

It's not my analysis. It's a culmination of every scouting article on the guy.

Yet 5 minutes ago he barely had any film at safety and his ceiling was Malcolm Jenkins.

Which scouting article says he gets beat over the top often?

sed extensively in man coverage and around the line, must continue improving as a reliable back-half defender against the pass and last line of defense against long runs. One-speed player who lacks burst. Is not quite agile or fast enough to stick with better NFL receivers, backpedal is high and stiff, can be out-quicked in space, and loses a step running down the seam. Can get caught freelancing and watching the backfield in zone coverage, and will bite on play action. Can fill downhill out of control, losing his leverage on the ball carrier and missing tackles. Doesn't always take good angles and is prone to running himself too far upfield when he's the "force" defender.

But I'm sure you'll say "caught freelancing and watching the backfield in zone coverage" will mean he doesn't get beat. I'm also sure you'll say "bite on play action" means he wouldn't get beat over the top.

And of course..."Is not quite agile or fast enough to stick with better NFL receivers, backpedal is high and stiff, can be out-quicked in space, and loses a step running down the seam." means he doesn't ever get beat.

Holy shite dude , how does:

quote:

caught freelancing and watching the backfield in zone coverage
and
quote:

Is not quite agile or fast enough to stick with better NFL receivers, backpedal is high and stiff, can be out-quicked in space, and loses a step running down the seam

mean

quote:

He played a lot of coverage and got burned quite a bit too over the top.

How many times have you seen the guy play? How many times have you seen him get beat over the top? Continue to put your own spin on to scouting reports.

No, it's just interpretation. It said watching the backfield and bites on play action. What the frick you think that means.

Loses a step running down the seam with bad coverage mechanics. What the frick do you think that means...he has trouble running to the sideline after the play is over?

It's basic reading comprehension.

I think today's biggest question is why the frick did we draft Malcolm Jenkins?

OK.
Guys. Healthy debate, but use your energies for something else now. Both of you made your point.

Cajun thinks he is shite.
Earth thinks he will be solid.

Lets let it play out before we crucify him

It's nothing genius. I just copied and pasted NFL.com. I don't see how bites on play action doesn't imply he gets beat over the top.

I'm not sure how it says he has problem sticking with good receivers and is slow down the seam doesn't imply he won't get beat.

I don't know what the frick to say. It's basic comprehension.

Look. I called Mickey. He said he isn't trading or cutting or starting Vaccaro based upon who wins the argument. Its futile. But keep wasting your time. What I'd rather see is you guys send Vaccaro a tweet or something welcoming him to the team. Thats a good way to waste time. Support the kid no matter what you think. It isn't his fault the Saints reached or whatever for him.
