I don't want a coach who complains about racism
So what I’m gathering is that someone can do racist things to you but you can’t make a complaint about it?
The saints haven’t hired a coach yet and they interviewed multiple minorities. Play by the rules and there are no grounds for any law suit.

How is that relevant to Flores?

Read the article and you will find the answers to your question. Nothing needs to be explained on my part.

You must have missed the part where the owner offered him $100,000 for every loss. He was never supposed to, or set up to win.
This was back in 2019. Why didn't he mention this immediately after he was fired? Also, securing the #1 pick that season would have gained you Burrow. Seems worth it. I almost wish the Saints would tank next season.
Still seems like a bogus story, but I suppose it could be true.

Nothing he alleges is racism

I mean, if they already had their guy and still interviewed him to fill their Rooney Rule requirements, knowing that he had no shot, then it sounds like he has a valid case.
Does he, though? It happens all of the time in real life and with nothing to do with affirmative action type requirements like the Rooney Rule. When a position comes open for anything, it's common for employers to have an idea of who they want and they interview folks as a formality knowing that they are giving the job to the person they were targeting to begin with, which is why the Rooney Rule is a joke. Proving that he was interviewed to satisfy the Rooney Rule requirement is one thing (nobody doubts that this happens), but proving that he wasn't hired because of race is quite another. In fact, I've seen more cases lately where the better qualified candidate was NOT hired because they were white and therefore not "diverse" enough. That said, prior to this mess, I would think that Flores has built a stronger resume than Daboll.
Now, the interesting part of this is the case against Miami and his firing. I do believe that his firing is suspect; he was a good coach there. If he has proof that the owner asked him to tank for a higher draft pick, tampered with another team by recruiting their QB and other things and fired him for not going along with it, he should have a very strong case. That still isn't racism, but it could certainly be considered wrongful termination. It sucks that he expanded it to include all of this other shite, it takes away from his case against the Dolphins, makes him look like a malcontent and pretty much makes him unhirable for other teams.

Not interested in giving it clicks.
However, from my understanding around sports talk. He claims the Broncos showed up late and drunk to his interview? How do you begin to prove that? And even if true it doesn't mean racism. He should be mad at the Rooney rule then.
The owner wanting to tank definitely would suck for the coach, but if they never hired a black coach to begin with then would it still be considered racist? And again how will this even be proven?
Would not want to hire him, because if anything went bad then he might cry racism and sue. Not everything that goes against you is racism.

I read it. There is no racism that took place. Can't believe minorities in the NFL are still crying about racism in 2022 when the league is 70% black and a fair amount of front office are minorities. Every NFL commercial is majority black/latino. Hip-hop in played anything the NFL touches. Policies are slanted to give them better opportunities. But yeah the NFL is racist...

If anything, I hope this kills the Rooney Rule once and for all. But you cannot stop an owner or GM from hiring who he or she wants to hire.

For the record he delivered their first back to back winning seasons since 2003
For the record, he still didn’t make the playoffs and has a career losing record. And apparently had major issues with his staff.
Matt Nagy in 4 seasons got his team to the playoffs twice and has a career winning record, maybe he should sue the nfl for racism since he can’t even get an interview like Flores after being fired…..

the league is 70% black
Yet 1 head coach, with 1 being fired after a 7 game winning streak. Another black dominated league, the NBA, has 12 black head coaches.
The NFL has a problem in this area. Not saying the Rooney Rule is the way to fix it, but it needs to be fixed.
My theory is that more often than not minority coaches are expected to be a finished product before being given a shot. Why else would Bieniemy not have a head job yet, but coaches like Zimmer, Nagy, Judge, and Gase were all given shots with no head coaching experience and no reason to think they were ready for it?

What would that have to do with them not getting a lot of head coaching opportunities?

Do you believe there are a myriad of skills people are good at other than athletics?
Being a tactician, management game planning?
