Watson is giving the falcons a chance to add players.

Atlanta is his home state team. He grew up cheering for them. Which means he also grew up rooting against the Saints. He would love nothing more than to play for the falcons. But they are terrible and he is aware of that.

The saints are obviously the much more talented team. They give him an opportunity to compete for a championship.

I’m guessing that he will see if the falcons can add some weapons for him. Don’t be surprised if the falcons make a heavy push for OBJ and Landry.

If they can’t land some weapons then Watson will be a Saint. Book it.

Take our cap space and sign OBJ/Landry and either Winston or trade for Murray.

Get fricked ATL

I don’t think we’re waiting around to be the consolation prize.

I don’t blame him for not coming last year. He was making the decision while we were rolling w Siemian

Soooo wouldn’t OBJ/Landry not want to play for the falcons with this logic

No, but it would mean that they would most likely rather play for the saints than Atlanta.

How does both of them being from BR area (Landry actually outside of Gramercy) make Atl their home team?

I guess what I said came out wrong. If Watson wants to play for the falcons… home state team.. rooting for them and whatnot. Wouldn’t that apply to OBJ and Landry not wanting to play for the falcons. Saints being the home state team, grew up rooting for them. I don’t know

It doesn’t mean they would refuse to play for the falcons. Just like Watson isn’t refusing to play for the saints. But I’m sure both of those guys would rather play for the saints than the falcons.

That's not it. If anything it's buying time to try and offload Ryan's contract. His cap hit stands at 40mil and they will need to make it tradeable.

With what money? The falcons cannot add anyone that will move the needle for them.
