Void of talent, how many future starters do we actually have?

Depth was shown this year, we have none.

Moving forward, aging vets like TM, Demario, and Cam are showing age and likely to be done. other guys who have been here for nearly a decade may want to be paid one last time, but should we (kamara, lattimore, taysom).

So what does that leave us looking at '25 and '26

Offense: 7 starters?
QB1 - Carr; while not the problem, he isn't the solution for a rebuilding team. will be here for the forseeable next 2 years.
WR1 - Olave; while not a true elite #1 he's still a solid WR who has some concussion concerns. still a 1k yard receiver
WR2 - Shaheed; injured but his gamebreaking speed is a nice touch, should be a #3 guy tho
LT - Fuaga looks solid, despite the "below average PFF" grade. He's given up 4 sacks in the past few weeks, but unsure if that's his fault or not.
C - McCoy under contract and showed elite 2 game play before injury
RG - Ruiz under contract and he showed continued growth, unfortunately also hurt
RT - Penning has also looked solid despite the below average grade. He too looks solid moving forward.

Huge hole at RB without Kamara, TE because Moreau is a backup at best, LG needs to be addressed, and WR#1 or WR#3 if you get a big bodied possession guy who can work the middle.

Defense: This is actually scary how thin we are...we have maybe 6 guys moving forward.
LDE Granderson is your only value. Young wasn't the answer. Foskey is a special teams player at best. Kpassagnon is injured and he was nothing more than a rotation. Turner is hurt again. Cam's career is done.
DT Bresee up and down, good pass rushing, poor defensive run stopping. needs a true NT next to him and maybe another rotation DT too to keep him fresh
MLB Werner I think a HUGE drop in our run defense was pete being out. say what you want, he might not be this elite guy in coverage but he's a very solid linebacker
CB1 Lattimore: I think its time to admit we just need to keep him, finding an elite corner is hard to find and reality is teams won't give you much for him with his bloated contract.
CB3 Taylor: now with adebo out he's going to go opposite lattimore, but is he worth it?
CB4 McKinstry - he's up and down. I think its clear he needs to learn the defensive playbook.

That is actually laughable how bad we've missed on drafting the past 4 years. None of these guys are elite. Couple starters are average to above average at best.

2021:
1st round - Turner (bust)
2nd round - Werner (starter)
3rd round - Adebo (starter, now IR)
4th round - Book (cut)
6th round - Young (backup T)
7th round - Baker (cut)
2 starters, 1 backup

2022:
1st round - Olave (starter)
1st round - Penning (starter)
2nd round - Taylor (starter)
5th round - Jackson (backup, special teams)
6th round - Jackson (cut)
3 starters, 1 backup

2023:
1st round - Bresee (starter)
2nd round - Foskey (bust)
3rd round - Miller (backup, nearing bust)
4th round - Saldiveri (backup)
4th round - Haener (backup)
5th round - Howden (backup)
6th round - Perry (cut)
1 starter, 4 backups

2024:
1st round - Fuaga (starter)
2nd round - McKinstry (backup)
5th round - Rattler (backup)
5th round - Means (backup)
5th round - Ford (backup)
6th round - Boyd (backup)
7th round - Ezirim (backup)
this is actually being kind, but so far 1 starter, few backups and PS guys.

We are bad enough that guys are forced to start. not because they're talented enough and even still...the amount of starters in a draft being 1-2 guys is not enough to overcome the weaknesses and age.

There is absolutely no way that you should give Olave a big contract like he will want. I think you have to trade him to a receiver needy team for the best package you can get for him. He is NOT a #1, but he will want to be paid like one.

You have to start accumulating picks, but you also need to get better talent evaluators in the building for that to work. Piss poor drafting is the primary culprit for the lack of depth

2021: young as a backup is a great pick in the 6th. Werner & Adebo were great value picks where they were drafted

2022: overlooking what was given up, you can’t ask for better results in a draft

2023: Breese is a good pick. Can’t be upset at getting 3 backups in the 4th & 5th; that’s actually ideal

2024: McKinstry is a backup in this secondary, but from the little we’ve seen he would challenge for starting time in most other secondaries. If we end up w 5 solid backups to pair with Fuaga & McKinstry; that is an excellent draft

Too many early round busts, giving up too many draft picks to move up every year, and they aren’t getting those “lucky” late round draft picks that end up being steals of the draft

He is Stefon Diggs before he became Stefon Diggs with Josh Allen.

WR needy team (Buffalo) traded a 1st (22nd overall), 5th, 6th for Diggs & 7th.

I think we try to find that team and I think the team is going to be Kansas City if Olave is truly available.

Yeah I’m of the opinion that Olave needs to be traded. True #1 receivers get open and get targets no matter who is playing at QB

Why would KC want him? They have Rice and Hollywood Brown. No need for Olave.

I legit think Olave is one of the most overrated players in the league so I think WR is high on the list. I think he's a solid 2, but nowhere near a 1.

Brown is on a 1 year/7mil deal - and he's out the entire season without playing a single snap

Rice is too on IR from a LCL injury - and he's out the entire season

Xavier Worthy and Juju Smith-Schuster are their #1/2 WR with Kelce being a shell of himself. As it stands, they are really struggling offensively --- if you wanna 3peat, I think I would try to get Mahomes more options.
