Phil savage (senior bowl) basically said only two that have a chance at impact on NFL rooster and both likely be gone before we picked. However, at Tight end we should have a lot of good choices. Need the DE in free agency, Also seemed to imply Saints lot if teams were high on kid from Tulane who was invited to combine. Said he screwed up and should have given him invite to Senior Bowl.

Also bad for receivers and o lineman, (bad in not a lot of locks first rounders? first rec likely to be around 15, NFL Sirius guys saying about 20 unanimous first round pics then next 60 between 1 and 3 round grades. Maybe good year to move up or back and get more pics. Key is 2 to 3 round now btw

Unfortunately, this is a poor FA class for DE too which is why I'm so hardheaded about getting Suh.

You could get away with an Onyemata/Hendrickson/Kikaha/Muhammad group at ends opposite Cam if you have Suh/Rankins up the gut.

At minimum, you know Kikaha can get clean up sacks and that's what he'd get if you're getting Suh to eat double teams and Rankins go 1v1 or vise versa. Hendrickson likely improved and same with Muhammad. Onyemata showed he can pass rush last year too.

This is an absolutely ridiculous statement.

Now, this argument makes a bit more sense with the caveat that he's only talking about the elite, top guys at these positions.

But the thing is, with any draft selection, there are no sure things. There is always risk involved. But to say that it's a weak class for edge defenders, tackles, and receivers to me is just wrong. There's no Julio at WR but that's usually the case every year. There's no Joe Thomas at tackle but again, that's a pretty common occurrence when it comes to the draft. That doesn't mean the guys that are available are a bunch of bums.

I'm not sure I agree. Some guys may take time to develop but I think the talent is solid, guys like Rasheem Green, Breelend Speaks, Chad Thomas, and RJ McIntosh.

I like Rasheem Green a lot.

But I think we could trade into the 2nd and get him. He’s not being projected as a first rounder right now.

Best case scenario IMO:

1st Round: Vander Esch OLB
2nd Round (via trade up): Rasheem Green DE
3rd Round: best available TE

This. Rankins was a beast as a rookie with Fairley next to him. Suh can play through doubles. Rankins destroys singles. If Suh is singled to double Cam, Suh will destroy to QB, and so on...

A DT taking on doubles is one of those things that usually takes them 3-4 years to be effective at. Right now it's a good sign Rankins does well one on one but he started to handle doubles as last season progressed. In a year or 2 he will be a DT that will be a force even against doubles.

As far as the other comments about weak DE and Oline draft, last year was considered a weak Oline class and we pull Ram, you never know.

I think the pick this year comes down to Malik Jefferson, Rashaan Evans, or Vander Esch.

Kirk is a wildcard. He would thrive in this offense.
