No such thing as helment to helment on a running back unless he is a helpless reciever.
exactly
as soon as PT turns up the field he becomes a runner, making the hit legal

What about helmet to helmet on Harper?
Posted on 1/14/12 at 3:54 pm to catholictigerfan
The other thread got whacked but come on people
There's a difference between a helmet hittig a helmet and illegally driving with your helmet
Seems a bunch of y'all have never played football
Helmets hit helmets all the time

they may have missed that one, but having the ball in his hands may have influenced that call.

he lowered his head and led with his helmet. thats the difference

Harper's hit on Smith was closer to a helmet to helmet than the play that Pierre got knocked out on.

I don't understand why it isn't a personal foul. The whole reason there is a penalty is to protect players from getting concussed. Helmet to helmet should be helmet to helmet and illegal no matter what.

This rule changes every year. Too hard to keep up with the shite. Either way, thanks Harper for the touche hit

Sucks that Thomas got hurt, but that wasn't a PI on that 3rd down, so we didn't really lose anything as those calls cancel each other out IMO(other than Thomas getting hurt, but he's still hurt even if they do call it )

they only call helmet to helmet on a hit on a QB or a DEFENSELESS receiver, that was a legal hit
Wrong. Leading with your helmet and helmet to helmet can be called on any player with the ball.

So you're admitting you know nothing about football?

if he doesn't he loses ground and PT gets a First if not a TD, that is the only way you can stop a big player lowering his helmet going right at him.
