Jake Byrne definitely did not run a 4.5.

Cmon, he quotes Braughton's name in the post. He couldn't be any more clear that he was in no way talking about Byrne.

ETA: My bad, I see you were referring to Bayou's post. I would just ignore him in general.

The Saints should be able to get every UDFA on defense that they want. With suspensions coming some of those guys will definitley play.
They should sign 5 CBs and 5 Safetys.

The universe has spoken J. Lee to the Chargers and anyone who says Jefferson to the Saints will get a mental slap in the face by yours truly

Went to school with this guy. He's saying he signed with the Saints as a UDFA.

i think Johnny Thomas may have a real shot at getting a roster spot for week 1.... he was the best DB on Oklahoma State's team before being ruled ineligible before the season.... had he played this season, he would have likely been at least a 3rd rounder, possibly early to mid 2nd, especially with the season they had....

Tevis was a guy that seemed to always be around the ball for Boise.... i didn't watch a ton of their games, but i do remember seeing that name on the back of a jersey in the middle of the action quite often the couple of times i did see a game of theirs....

Davis is supposedly a great cover corner.... we'll see... i was really hoping to get Minnifield as an UDFA, but i guess he was already going to another team.... really wanted Dennard in the draft, but they didn't get him....oh well, maybe June 1st something good will shake loose from another team...

Byrne is a blocking TE, if he can play it would save some bucks over a Humphries or Gilmore vet

Broughton doesn't sound bad either-

Biography: Started five games as a senior, posting 25 tackles/6 tackles for loss/2 sacks. Junior totals included 11/2/1.

Positives: Athletic yet undeveloped defensive prospect with a high upside. Plays with good quickness, is fluid changing direction and stays on his feet. Easily makes plays in every direction of the field, works his hands to protect himself and plays with good lean. Effective out of a three-point stance or standing up over tackle.

Negatives: Does not play to his 40 time. Lacks balance, on the ground too much and easily blocked from the action. Minimally explosive.

Analysis: Broughton is an outstanding athlete with elite size/speed numbers, but he was minimally productive and rarely consistent on the college field. He improved his game last season and is worth consideration on a practice squad as a developmental outside linebacker.

Thomas:

Biography: Junior totals of 2010 included 63 tackles/3 interceptions/5 pass breakups. Academically ineligible last season.

Positives: Nice-sized zone safety who displayed a lot of skill in his game before last season. Displays good awareness, effectively picks up assignments and displays a nice break to the ball. Quick up the field in run defense and aggressively goes after ballcarriers. Stays with assignments and effective between the numbers.

Negatives: Lacks top speed to the sidelines, does not display a burst to the action and usually a half step late arriving on the scene in coverage. Does not cover a lot of area on the field. Shows poor hands for interceptions.

Analysis: Thomas has the size and speed to play in the NFL and has special teams ability. He's worth consideration in the late rounds. Must show his game has not lost a step after sitting on the sidelines in 2011.

The Saints have enough of these type of DBs. Looks like he will make the team, and fit right in.

if her can

yeah, i agree, but if "her" could play, especially with the TE position being paper thin this draft, he wouldn't be a UDFA.... just sayin'... i think we'll have the same TE's as last season unless we bring a vet...

Broughton is the classic workout warrior, which is something i HATE bout the draft, by the way... i hate when all of a sudden player A from xyz st. becomes a 1st rounder because while in a body suit he ran fast, benched a lot of weight a lot of times, and jumped really high.... i think too much gets made of those numbers..... for me, and this is just my opinion, there should be more emphasis placed on production than potential.... there's something to be said for a guy that can say he was a 4 year starter at a major university.... not saying that all of them workout, but that's my thoughts on it....

Temple LB Stephen Johnson

ETA: Seen this on a few different sites now. I'd call it confirmed.

I've also seen:

Brian Lithicum, TE, Michigan State
and
Kadarron Anderson, ILB, Furman

but I'm having trouble confirming those two

ETA: Seen Anderson on a few more sites - so we can probably consider that one confirmed as well.

As for Lithicum, only saw it in one place, but seen a couple other sites showing him to the Jets. So I doubt that one is true.

Nice copy/paste job.

To be more helpful, you could edit out those that the OP already has listed.

I'll help - Pat, you can add
Chris Givins, WR, Miami (OH)
and
Kevin Hardy, WR, Citadel

As for Aldredge, I've only seen that on one site. Not sure I'd call it confirmed.
