I think our biggest need now is an interior player on the line to replace Brown and Rankins. I think Shelvin would be a great pick to be that run stuffing nose tackle and would probably start this year for us as his only competition is Shy Tuttle. Malcolm Roach is more of a 3-Tech playing behind Onyemata.

He couldn't stay in shape when he was actually playing football and made a terrible decision to opt out. Do not want a player that isn't willing to work. I can guarantee Payton doesn't want somebody like that either.

He will likely be on the board for most of the draft of not all of it.

I think he’s grown up a lot over the course of this year, he went to Dallas to train and was in great shape at the pro day. 350 is playing weight for Shelvin but he carries it better than your normal 320 lb nose tackles do. He basically cut off communication with family to go train. Brody Miller wrote a good piece on him. When I look at Shelvin I see a bigger, stronger, faster Norman Hand.

He actually fits a major need, and he’s undervalued for the kind of talent he is. Doesn’t need to be a starter but can give us 15-20 snaps

The defensive tackles I’m looking at that would provide young depth are Jay Tufele from USC and Daviyon Nix from Iowa.

His RAS is 1.28. I don't think he's on our radar

Based on a post last night, we might go BPA based on highest RAS (B-RAS-A?). Is there a list of RAS scores available?

Saints could draft him, and just pay him in gift cards to area resturants.

That may be the case but we know he has had some work ethic issues already. I personally think that’s something the saints generally try to steer clear of
