I'm not too great at breakdowns of DE but is it a pretty hard transition to make from a 4-3 to a 3-4?

depends on the size as much as anything. A lot of 4-3 ends are fairly light (like Mingo), and are basically the equivalent of a 3-4 OLB in rushing the passer. 3-4 DEs still have to engage the offensive linemen, usu run at least 280.

Montgomery is too light to play end in a 3-4, and likely not athletic enough to play 3-4 OLB (can't see him dropping off in coverage too much). He's a great value for a 4-3 team at this point in the draft, though

Ivory to Jets for the Dolphins 3rd pick, in exchange for our 4th and maybe Jets 4th

I see that D. Moore went to the Giants right in front of that trade. I don't know, so I am asking; would Moore have been a good fit or is Jenkins a better one (I know different pos)?

I think we moved up specifically for a NT. We signed a OLB already in the offseason. Not too worried as some people about it at the moment.

So far now in the draft (for defense) :
Saftey
NT

During offseason:
CB
OLB

I think the front office did a really good job upgrading the D. Hit all areas of need. Even if some people aren't too high on the picks.

Thanks.

I'm on record for being disappointed in Vaccaro over Jones. Not that I don't like KV, I just think Jones will have more of an impact. But I hope he proves me wrong and Jones flops

But yeah, I like that we got S, DT/NT, and OT

Victor Butler was signed to a 1 year deal, but he is far from a proven star OLB that this defense needs. If he reaches that status this year, we'll have to pay a premium for him in 2014 or he'll walk. If he doesn't do well, well... I sure hope our current guys that will be OLBs don't suck too.
