We need to trade up for Cam Ward, bring in Ben Johnson, fix the oline, clean up cap space.
Go .500 maybe win the division
And then 2026 improve the defense

Probably a better idea to trade back and get more talent on the team and get a QB next year.

I regret that I only have one downvote to give.

Lose that thought for the rest of the decade.

Take Tyler Warren or trade back. Can’t pass up on a rare talent like that.
Agree on QB in 2026. Much much better class. And if we tank properly next year, we should have our pick.
Cams numbers are solid but not dominant against shite teams. High risk pick.

It doesn’t matter what you suggest we do. This board will just tell you we need to crawl in a hole and die.

I’m going to try to exercise more patience on these topics this year. Allow me to address all the issues I see with what you have proposed.
A quarterback is not a silver bullet to becoming a good team. By any measure, Carr is one of the top 15 quarterbacks in the NFL and is not our biggest issue. Also, you cannot get rid of his contract.
LG, DE, DT and WR are our biggest needs. We need to fix those things first or no player, not even a QB, is going to make us any better.
Cam Ward is considered to be an iffy prospect that has put up good numbers against bad competition and struggles with consistent accuracy. You should only trade up for can’t miss prospects, not for a lottery ticket.
Ben Johnson coaches the best group of offensive players in the NFL. Is his success because of the talent they’ve built up over the last 5 years or is he that great of a coordinator? That is unknown. Also, just because he is a good coordinator (like Dennis Allen was) doesn’t mean he will be a great head coach (like Dennis Allen wasn’t). Also, there is no guarantee he would want to come here.
You can’t clean up the cap space this year. It will be a 2 year process. And trying to fix the offensive line would do the opposite if you don’t do it through the draft, which I guess you are advocating for since you are trying to trade up.
Speaking of trading up, we need more rookies to bring in and develop to help clean up cap space. Trading up gives us less/worse picks. That’s the last thing we need.
Happy New Years.

That’s entirely too much sense making for this fanbase! I agree with you though lol. I am sure you will get attacked for saying that Carr is not a problem though…….this irrational hatred for a good QB (who by all accounts is a great person as well) is astounding.
I never thought that I would be ashamed to be a Saints fan for the way a player has been treated by the fans. And I have been a Saints fan my entire life (43 years old).

This draft has to be BPA because the Saints need everything.

Why? He is trash
I don’t know if I would go that far, but he is definitely not what the media keeps pushing. He is talented, but he has many of the same deficiencies that Rattler has…….so why would we want to use a high draft pick on a project.

The saints are taking the best available WR with their first round pick. Next pick will be a corner or OLB/DE.
There isn’t one QB in this draft worth using a first round pick on. You already have Carr on a big contract and Rattler as backup. Ward and Sanders are not much better than Rattler if at all.

No. The time to patchwork this thing together is over. It's time to bring it down to the studs. Gotta get out of this cap situation so it's gonna be a few years. Just add as much cheap talent as possible.

Why would you think that? McMillan is the only highly rated WR and will likely be gone before we pick. Burden is climbing the draft boards, but we already have a version of him in Olave. Harris and Egbuka are projected late 1st/early 2nd.

We need to trade down for multiple years. 1 player isn't fixing this. Should have tanked when this started going bad.

Don’t want any part of Cam Ward
