With Cousins out for the year, pretty sure they gonna tank now for a rookie qb. And they don’t want to pay Hunter. Dude is tearing it up this year with ten sacks already.
More than our entire defensive line combined.

Allen loves to rush just 4. We desperately need someone opposite Granderson on passing downs. Cam is still ok on early downs but we need someone that can bring the heat when it’s an obvious pass. Cam can’t do it anymore.

Would definitely only be a rental. But we would get a comp pick back after he leaves b/c we don’t have money for free agents. Maybe they bite on a swap with Turner and mid draft pick. They might like the newer version of Davenport.

Agree.

but what would the Saints give the Vikings?

We don't have a 3rd round pick I don't think.

I'd be cool with waving goodbye to a 4th round pick?

We need a pass rushing boost there is no doubt about that. Cam can still get home but it's fewer and further between so far this season. You think hypothetically, he'd be better lining up inside sometimes like in a Nascar package on long passing downs?

Definitely would help the pass rush, but not sure what we have to give up

I'm not giving up any future assets to help this staff.

All depends on what we would have to give up. Hunter is a great commodity, but he needs a new contract so I would think somewhere in the realm of a 3rd rounder. With Cam not being a pass rush specialist at this point it then a 3rd rounder might be worth the investment for a legit pass rush. Also depends on his potential contract value too though since we already have Cam & Granderson signed to significant contracts.

Speaking of DEs, did Payton Turner play yesterday? I watched the game but not too closely as I was cooking and such and I did not notice him yesterday or the last several games. He played 1 game earlier this year and showed up and had me thinking he was turning the corner but then he disappeared. I did see Foskey in yesterday and even nearly had that strip/sack on Minshew that they ended up calling incomplete pass

So give up more capital for another player we won’t be able to afford? Just to maybe get to 9 wins instead of 8? No

The absolute worst place to be for this team is giving up future assets which will be affordable to be on the fringe of the playoffs and keeping this staff around.

Contracts have to make sense, obviously, but going after a proven pass rusher isn't a bad idea considering our lack of success in drafting one despite spending multiple 1st rd picks. Unless they think Foskey will have a Trey Hendrickson type career

Yeah but you’re getting him for half a season. We’re in nowhere near position to re-sign him and are going to need every pick to fill out the roster.

If you trade for him, and he leaves in FA, do we get a comp pick?
