Regardless of politics, it is odd that more people aren't worried about government sanctioned violence against citizens.
Obviously each case is different. And the police do difficult and sometimes dangerous work for all of us. But it's not crazy to be alarmed whenever police shoot unarmed citizens. Doesn't mean that force isn't always justified.
But we should think long and hard about what is actually happening- a government agent exercises their power of life and death over a citizen. In this country, that is something we take seriously.
