Maybe the NFL should develop a system
to get more minority owners. But I don't see a way you can get teams to conduct a real minority interview instead of the bs one interview then the team hire whomever they was going to anyway the next day.

Nearly 75% of NFL players are African American yet 75% of the front office positions are occupied by whites and now of you don’t see a problem with that? It is clear that you don’t want to see past an opposing view to infuse diversity.

In summation, African Americans should just stick to being players on the field and forget about top level executive positions?

Dumb. I don't like the idea in general of having incentives to hire minorities. I think if someone is qualified they will get a chance. I realize there is debate on this. But if you are going to do something it should not affect the rules of the game; in this case the draft.

Sell me on a plan then that would increase the hiring of black front office people that doesn’t at the same time for all intents and purposes penalize white people for being white. The best guy should get the job regardless of skin color.

So you 2 guys would rather have been born black, correct? That is what you’re saying, no? There are tons of legitimate arguments against affirmative action type laws and rules, but at least try to be intellectually honest.
You think black people wish they were born white? That's fricking racist.

So how do we reconcile the constant nepotism in NFL hiring with the best guy should get the job?

Discriminatory hiring practices Alone in its form can be describe as a form of affirmative action. In addition, race exclusive practices of not considering qualified minorities for managerial positions and other leadership positions should also be considered as de facto hiring practices. I bet you weren’t advocating that those practices Should have been discontinued? Now, the composition of the fabric of the NFL is now changing. Minorities should have more leadership positions to reflect these changes. They are no longer satisfied as players, groundsmen or hot dog vendors. Your idea deal for advancement is that they continue to labor on the field and continue to look toward white management to hand over those leadership positions that have been controlled by the white power structure since the inception of the NFL when the league was nearly 85% white. Such logic is past ridiculous.

I really think this is an insult to any minority coach in the game. Jobs should be awarded on merit, not race.

Lester Earl approves of this policy and I disapprove of it

It wasn’t an insult when jobs were given to white men as qualified monitors were over look? The Rooney rule was designed to give minorities an opportunity to be interview due to past and existing discrimatory Hiring practices. No such policy had to be incorporated to hire whites. Why, because whites overwhelmingly comprise of over 90% of all mangeral positions since the inception of the NFL.

I m black and this is racist. So lay off white coaches to hire black. Let the best qualified coach get the job.
No one is laying anybody off or calling to lay off any WHITE coaches.
Changing the question for dramatics!

When in hell are we going to start making people earn what they get?

White affirmative action is called white privilege. You see nothing wrong with this entitlement?

No they don't need it. Demographics of coaches in the NFL already match demographics of people in the country.
Policies like this is what racism looks like.
Yes, and more black owners to match the demographics of people in the country. While we at it let's get more white players too!!!
Posted on 5/16/20 at 9:28 pm to LSU_30A
That's what this country has come to.
