This trade was done for one reason only.

Eagles wanted to trade one of their three first round picks. Lots of teams behind us need receivers. GB comes to mind. They probably wanted to trade up right in front of us and eagles have two of those picks so they become prime real estate.

Now it will be more costly for those teams to jump in front of us in the top 15…..

We’re not keeping both picks. One or both will be traded for us to move up again.

I like Olave. I doubt he last that late though.

Jameson Williams got injured very late in the season but I still think to me he's the most exciting receiver in this class.

I totally think we're going to take a tackle with one of those picks

I'm pretty confident they are all in on Penning and Olave

I’d take him over London.

I think Olave, Wilson and Williams are all super talented receivers who can be successful. It’s like picking between Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase and Ceedee Lamb.

Williams has the injury and his timeline to return has to be considered. I’d take any of them though.

I like Burks, but he and London seem more like possession receivers IMO.

Agreed, not a fan of olave. I have London, Wilson, and Williams. Possibly burks ahead of olave

Sam Howell will be a first round pick and will be drafted before Matt Corral. I think he has a higher upside than Pickett. He shined when NC had talent. Hope the Saints snag an OT and Howell. You can get WRs in the 2nd that are talented (see Jalen Waddle last year, Tee higgins year before)

I just hope we don't trade both to move up. We've been historically bad at that.

Not really. Waddle was the 6th pick of the first round.

Take 10 to 1 odds right now we don’t draft a WR

Guys with Olave’s profile don’t typically hit it big, I kind of agree with the thought he’s already reached his peak

I think they are all in on Penning with 16. I kinda want Pickens in the 2nd and Jameson with 19. That should solve the wide out problem.

This was a horrible trade for the Saints.

There’s no other way to see that right?

This year is a weak draft. Philly set themselves up to get qb next year

It's bad if they are reaching for a QB. They may bundle one of the picks with a player to move up to someone they really want. I have a feeling they are not done yet.

It truly comes down to how we perform next year. If we win 10 or 11 games and our pick is somewhere around 20-25, it wasn’t a bad trade. We get (hopefully) a starter on a rookie contract that helps with salary cap implications. But if we play poorly or have injury hell like this past year the pick could be around 10 to 15 and it’s a bad trade. It’s really a bet on we will be a quality team this year. Risky no doubt.
