This schedule seems intentionally bad

I know Goodell hates the Saints, but this seems over the line.
I’ve never seen a more egregious schedule than this.
Has any team ever played in London and then not had their bye week after, or are we the guinea pigs for that?
Ravens and Steelers back to back, Steelers being on a short week and in Pittsburgh?!
Another Thursday road game (shocker) but all the way in Arizona after playing the Bengals?
This schedule will result in 3 or 4 losses just by the way it was arranged and not the opponent and that doesn’t seem right.
SEA sucks and should be an easy win, but on no bye after coming back from England that week? We could easily lose there because of the schedule. I think we lose to Arizona after a really big game against the bengals and having to travel to Arizona for a Thursday game. Pit sucks with no QB but I think we lose that game just because of the schedule again. Going to Pit on a short week after playing Baltimore on MNF?
The NFL puts this team through a dogshit gauntlet but then doesn’t give them a bye til week 14, despite having a London game early in the season?!
MIN in London
SEA (after no bye)
CINCINNATI
ROAD ARIZONA ON A THURSDAY
RAIDERS
RAVENS on MNF
@PIT on a short week
RAMS
@49ERS
@TAMPA
THEN WE FINALLY GET A BYE. Jesus Christ. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saints lose 7 or 8 of those games just purely from being gassed.
That doesn’t even account for having to do cold weather Cleveland and cold weather Philly back to back on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve (keeping the team on the road for two weeks straight away from their families on the holidays)
Nobody would ever say something, but somebody should say something

It’s a tough schedule in theory, but the NFL changes quickly so we really don’t know. Either way, no one will give a shite. The record will be what it is and no one cares what the schedule was.

Y’all do this every year and we manage to win 9-11 games. Relax and let things play out

frick Goodell. I always feel better saying that.

Forget no Wilson or Wagner on that team? Very winnable game coming off an overseas trip

We hear this dumb analogy each year only to see the teams that were good the year before completely suck it up the next.

Well the Packers play the Giants in London then have a home game the next week

It's pretty chickenshit that both the Packers and Saints have week 14 bye weeks with international games.

Can’t speak for the Packers, but Saints requested to play after the London game. Didn’t want the early bye.
As far as happening before, it was suppose to happen in 2020 to a team (don’t recall who). But they ended up having to move their bye to that week w COVID reshuffled schedules
And quick look: both Thursday night games last year were at home. No Thursday night games in 2020 (COVID reschedule). 2019 was in the road. 2018 the 1st was at home (short week), 2nd on road (normal week). Stopped looking there

The same set of fricktards seem to defend the schedule makers every year.
The Saints have been historically good enough to overcome scheduling bias.
The schedule can be the difference between being a 1 seed or a two seed or simply just missing the playoffs.

Week 14 bye could be the rest the team needs to make a good playoff run.

Packers coach said the same thing on an interview I saw last night.

I wasn’t aware of this little factoid & im surprised that given a choice the Packers & Saints both chose not to have their bye weeks following their game in Europe & chose to have it later in the season.
Having a bye week that late in the season seems less helpful to me then having it earlier in the year (wks 9 thru 12). IIRC the Saints have had really early bye weeks the last few seasons that would’ve been more helpful with injuries & whatnot had it been later in the season.
Although IF the Saints find themselves in playoff contention a week 14 bye would help in getting healthy for a playoff push.

Because of the inconvenience for teams that have to play overseas, the NFL gives clubs some ownership over their bye weeks. They can take their bye immediately afterward to give their players a chance to get their bearings back after a grueling travel schedule. Or, they can take their bye later in the season.

There is no schedule bias. Eventually you gotta play the teams sooner or later. Everything is on a rotation. It just so happens this years rotation is NFC West and AFC North, which look tough based on last year. The home and away is also on a rotation. What can the league do other than give 3 straight away or give a early bye. Despite what some said last year's schedule was extremely easy, should have won the division if not for injuries.

Really believe that? Go check the Bucs schedule all tuff games at home then come back and say they don't play favorites with scheduling.
