We aren't beating teams with lucky turnovers or flukey comebacks. We're beating the pants off of teams with talent and coaching.

This may be our best team ever (so far). Lots of games left to play but it is hard to not be excited.

Those weren’t lucky or flukey in 2009. That team followed Sharper’s lead on defense.

The 09 Saints did the same thing until the Miami game. Maybe even better. And they didn't face the Packers without Aaron Rodgers.

Not saying this isn't great or anything.

The Patriots beat down in 09 was the most fun game I've ever witnessed.

I'd like us to get Snead more involved in the next few weeks. At some point we're going to need to spread teams out and will need all cylinders firing.

2011 is our best team ever.

Unless this team goes 14-2 and wins the Super Bowl.

Agreed. I may have to go se a doctor if my erection doesn’t go down soon. Remember we destroyed a bunch of teams in 2009 and 2011. But this is without the turnovers. And this run game looks even better than what we had with bell. Bush. Thomas in 2009.

I think this team is rivaling 2011. Just doing it slightly differently.

The Redskins game that year was flukey as hell thanks to Meachum stripping that interception back from the DB.

Yeah redskins game was nuts. Didn’t Washington’s kicker miss a late FG? I remember Vilma having a huge pick ansnwe won it OT if I recall. The 2009 defense has so many strips and scores and pick sixes.

In OT at Washington, chris McAllister had a forced fumble, leading to the saints fg in ot.

This is like 2011 bit without all the passing fireworks.
There will be a game where we will need Drew to light it up soon and I have no doubt he will when the time comes.

Someone started a thread before the season saying that this defense would be better than the 2009 team's. I said no way, but it's startling to look like the case. We aren't forcing the turnovers that team did, but TO's are a bit flukey and I'll take the yards/points dominance in exchange for the defensive TD's.

ETA: But never forget the D allowing 2TD to 5INT in the playoffs to Warner (great season), Favre (maybe his best season), and Peyton (MVP, though it should have been Brees). Fortunately, you could pick the 3 best opposing QB's we could possibly face this season, and it wouldn't be close to what we had to do in 09.

Offensively, our OL is close to that 2009/2011 level. Ingram/Kamara are pretty much equal to PT/Sproles and better than PT/Bush.

He isn't putting up the crazy numbers, but Brees doesn't look to have really fallen off much.

We fall short with the WR/TEs. Thomas may be slightly better than Colston. He's definitely more talented, but Colston was seasoned come 2009/2011. We don't have anyone close to Graham or even Shockey at TE. I prefer Devery in his prime to Ginn, and Moore was way better than Snead has been this season.

If we can mostly retain this team in 2018, I still think that a TE/WR is the biggest need for this team. Shitty WR draft and FA class, though. Best bet may be for Snead's shite play to make him cheap to keep and have him bounce back.

Meachem in Washington made one of the best plays ever in football.

That one play didn’t make that game flukey
