If Brees were the QB during the same two game span, all you idiots would say what a great game manager and clutch leader we have running the offense.

This thread is pathetic. Jesus.

You’ll never win because of him his job is not to lose

Being 2-0 is no indicator of his level of play. Andrus Peat is also 2-0. It's a team sport. Anyone watching the last two games knows the defense and Kamara carried this team to those two victories. Saying Bridgewater is 2-0 as a starter is no more an indicator that the Saints will beat the Bucs than saying your next flip of a coin will be heads since the previous two flips were heads.
You look at his individual performance. And that performance is lacking. We're not talking about a 22 year-old rookie fresh from the NCAA. We're talking about a guy who, prior to his knee injury, started dozens of games in the NFL.
To say 'anyone would be a drop-off from Brees' is similarly a non-starter. Yes, most likely, anyone would be, but the question is how much of a drop-off. In his last ten quarters of play, Bridgewater has brought very little to the table that potentially half or more of the current backup QB's in this league could bring. I refuse to believe Taysom Hill is somehow incapable of throwing completions under ten-yards at the same rate that Bridgewater is able. And Hill brings far greater mobility that opens the team up to more offensive options.
At this point, however, Payton is locked in to Bridgewater unless he throws multiple interceptions. I also suspect in the back of his mind is that it helps the Saints long-term in their ability to sign Hill to a more cap-friendly contract. But don't kid yourself thinking Bridgewater's 2-0 record means anything going into the game against the Bucs where he may be called upon to lead this team's offense to put more than 20 points on the board.

You can tell that the defense won the game so how hard is it to figure out that he's a fricking liability
this is just patently dishonest. He led a 9 minute or so 12 play or something drive in the second half that chewed off the clock, gave the defense which was playing lights out a long rest, and gassed a really good cowboys D.
If doing shite like that is considered a liability then I have no idea what you are watching.

Does OP think that Mark Madsen was 2-0 in the NBA Finals?
IF our Defense plays slightly worse in both games and we are 0-2. Teddy is mediocre as a game manager.

the truth is that the Saints are 2-0 with Teddy starting because of three things: Loomis, Ireland, and Payton. That roster is very talented. The TEAM.
Teddy has done his part, but that has plenty to do with Payton changinging the game plans to fit Teddy.
The frustrating part for Bridgewater, is that you can see him pump the ball like he is ready to throw it. Yet he holds on to the ball too many times, and way too long. I am not smart enough to know if this is a lack of presanp reads, or a lack of confidence in the a WR being in the right spot at the right time. He was All Pro in 2015. Where has that guy gone?
The positive part of TB is that he has done his part of this team since he has started. Good for him. Just because he plays the highest profile position does not mean that he should have all of the praise, nor all of the blame.

We won in spite of him not because of him.
Not really. Defense, ST, MT13, and AK41, are winning these games. Thankfully TBs mistakes haven't lost them.
For example, TB has had 2 critical mistakes at the end of the last 2 games. Thankfully neither cost us the game. KJ Wright dropped a pass from TB that hit him in the numbers in the seahawks game with 9 minutes to go, and then TB taking a 20 yard sack put the saints out of FG range in the Dallas game to keep the lead at 2 points. Bad play call, but TB should know to not take a sack putting us out of FG range. A simple FG by Dallas would have won the game. The defense, ST, and AK won the cowboys game.

Perhaps it's just me, but I can't understand how so many people can live with such a black or white mindset. It is entirely possible to see gray area in everything. That is, it's possible to be thrilled that the Saints are 2-0 (without Brees) AND recognize that Bridgewater has brought very little to the table in both games. It's not a zero sum game.
If you make a mistake, say at work or in your life, but things ultimately turn out ok do you just bury your head in the sand and act like the mistake wasn't made? Or, do you still try to learn from it while ALSO being happy it didn't cost you significantly?
Right now the Saints are winning because they are getting increased efforts from the defense and special teams. But it is reasonable to have concern those units won't be able to keep that level of play up for the next 4 games and that the offense, particularly the QB, is going to have to carry a bit more weight.

People were pleading last week to bring in a garbage washed-up Eli Manning just so they didn't have to see Bridgewater anymore.
People are definitely being too hard on him.

Meh, QBs get too much credit when the team wins and take too much blame when the team loses. Bridgewater is doing a fine job of not fricking things up, but that's about it. Thankfully the team is so stacked that this is enough to win.
Had that 16 yard sack he took cost us the game I think a lot of you would be singing a different tune.

He had a lot to do with the Seattle win.
He wasn't particularly helpful against Dallas

according to OP, drew sucks and teddy threw for 400 plus with 3 TD's each game! he carried us to the wins with garbage D and ST! since drew sucks against those teams also!

If you just look at it moneyball style “we are paying him for wins” he’s doing great so far.

It’s bound to happen to any QB that followed Brees.
It sucks but it’s hard to go from listening to mozart to listening to listening to the volunteer pianist at church.
