Cam Jordan was a beast. Outside of that, defense was turrible.

Those quick passes outside is something an NFL team should have no problem stopping, the fact that the Saints couldn't said a lot.

Saints D held RG3 to 40 points, which is the best that can be expected when your offense fails to score 50.

Carolina scored 10 against the Bucs today. How many do they put on the board next week against this defense?

Defense was committing too much to the play fakes off the option type plays, which led to just wide open guys. However still no pressure on QB, they did get some later in the game.

so far, they look the same....

no matter how you cut it, no pass rush in today's NFL will get you killed..... if you don't have a pass rush, you better have elite, shutdown corners.... we don't..... that's not a good combo....

so we are reduced on defense to forcing a mistake and trying to take advantage of that mistake, as well as trying to outscore our opponent.... we do not have a defense that can take over the game... we lack a secondary that looks to pick off a pass rather than trying to knock out the opposing receiver, and we lack a consistent pass rush with our front four....

I think our Defensive Line can be improved.

But I have no idea what we're gonna do about our DB's.

10 guys can do an awesome job on defense but it doesn't matter if one guy(Harper) screws it up.

He's such a massive liability in coverage that it just kills us. I don't know that any team in the league has to cover up for one guy as much as the Saints have to with Harper.

I have no idea why he is still on the roster. He is a moving hole in the defense. Slow moving.

you answered it by saying:

better line play will result in our pedestrian DB's playing better... there was alot of time given to RG3 to find an open receiver.... in the NFL, QBs will pick you apart if you give them time.... that's what happened today... with a pass rush, that doesn't happen at the same rate.... sure, we still need improvements in the back half, but if we can figure out how to get the QB to get the ball out faster without being able to scan and then rescan the field to find the open receiver and hit him for a big gain, we will improve our DB play
