In-N-Out doesn't franchise. They're privately owned and operated.

All of their locations must be within a day's drive of their sole distribution center because their food is not frozen. That's why they are only in a few states.

They are opening a new location in Garland, TX and building a new distribution center for that location. I would guess that will spur a few new sites around that area. But New Orleans would probably still be too far to justify sending a truck every day or two.

It has been rumored that one will open with the Manning name attached somehow. Drew should beat them to the punch on this one.

I said in another thread recently that it would be epic if he'd open one across the street from teh Mannings.

2 internationally known franchises are incomparable to a sandwich shop most people in the South have never heard of.

I would go to any sort of restaurant that Brees owned at least once, even if it was a Tofu Palace

It's funny that you bring up Taco Bell in New Orleans. I'm not sure if there are any left in Orleans Parish.

The ones on S. Claiborne and Tulane closed after Katrina.

There may be one out by UNO, but I think that's it.

The one on Jefferson Hwy by Ochsner Hospital is also closed since Katrina.

I can't figure it out. I think a Taco Bell, or better yet, a Taco Cabana, would be very popular around here. Drive thru Mexican fast food is sorely missing in N.O.

I believe they refuse to move from the west. The furthest east I've seen them is AZ.

eta: sorry just saw the post explaining the franchise...or lack thereof

My goal in life (I'm 24) is to work long enough and save up enough so I can franchise a Panera. I've never seen one that wasn't packed 24/7 and they don't seem to have any in the Gulf Coast region. I moved to the east coast during college and people go nuts for these places and they're actually pretty damn good.
