The Saints will go heavy on offense in the draft...

I feel it in my loins. OL/WR/OL. Top three picks just for you.

Not sure what you feel in your loins, nor do I really care there Mr. Duncan.
But I do agree on the thought of going heavy on the offense side of the ball. I think they will be looking for play makers for Drew in possibaly the first 3 rounds. I think this will be the first year where the FO honestly makes and effort to trade down for extra picks. Houston would be my target if they pass on QB and take Clowney, think they would want to try and get back in the first to take a QB that falls, which I think is going to happen with all except Borles (sp?).
If this were to happen, I think they will be looking at - TE, WR, CB, & RB in the first 3 rounds. Some will say WTF RB & TE this early? Watson maybe a June 1 cut or will be gone next yr, nor do we know what the status for Graham this yr or beyond. Rarely do we go into the season with less than 4 or 5 RBs, Cadet has really shown nothing other than be an insurance policy for Sproles when he was here, nor is he Payton pick. Ingram will be possibly a FA next yr depending on performance. I am willing to bet they will be looking at Hill real hard come the 3rd round.
Last year we saw an infussion of youth on the defensive side of the ball, and you saw the effect it had. This year will be the same for the offensive side.

CB will more than likely be our 1st pick unless there is a run on them ahead of us. I think we go lineman/WR in the second. After that I am thinking we address our center position in the 4th or 5th (it's a very week draft for centers so I wouldn't be surprised if we draft a guard instead). We need a sproles replacement and might also be thinking TE depending on how it is going for Jimmy. Every thing else will be for depth.

No glaring weakness means BPA at a position we are average at. WR or CB is my guess. Draft is deep in both positions and I see the most value there. A lot of chatter about Cooks from Oregon State

I agree to disagree. Alot of folks on here forget or choose to assume we have no other CB's on the roster while we have P Rob, White, Sweeting.
P Rob- coming off ACL, showed great potential in man to man press coverage.
White- entering his 3rd yr. improved each year. 3rd year is usaully when the light bulb comes on.
Sweeting- 2nd yr. Got some good quality snaps last year and looked like he could be a player with more reps.
I agree we will draft a CB, but it will not be with the 1st pick. When it's all said and done the top half of the draft going to be offensive play makers with maybe a O-lineman thrown in there. The offense has to get younger and faster to compliment the defense that was rated the number 4 D in the league.

Just can't see OL in first. Two reasons, this front office has yet to pick OL that early. Really good OL comes off the board early in drafts. Unless its a really good center or guard there usually isn't talent at that spot without reaching. We are set at Tackle and Guard the next two years at least. We are only lacking a center and I don't see one good enough for justifying that pick in the first round. JMO though
I'm thinking CB or WR whichever doesn't have a run on them in the first round

This ol goat has said before that the Saints will do the exact opposite of what people and you Jeff Duncan think they will do in the draft. Seems to be the one constant in their picks over the years.

Saints have been taking best player available for years. Why would that change now?

The Saints could pursue free agent C Jonathan Goodwin if fellow free agent Brian de la Puente signs elsewhere.

Saints. Will trade 1st and 3rd of next year and will get 1st round pick to draft a top corner

100% agree with your whole post. We have good corners.. We need depth at the position but as long as PRob is recovering nicely from his injury he is a perfect fit in our system. The biggest concern with CB is depth, because we'd be in hot water if Lewis went down.. A 3rd or 4th rd small school guy who has the talent but not the resume (sorry, no examples. I know they're there though, I've seen them mentioned) adds depth and future starter capabilities. That's all we need.
I don't know why all of these people think we need one so bad. Before 2012 PRob was a beast at man coverage. He looked terrible in 2012 when Spags tried to force him into zone. I am 100% confident he would have shined in RR's system if he played last yr and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Coverage LB, WR, and C are bigger needs IMO

Curious why you would think I am.

Maybe. I kind of feel it will be a balanced draft, with the first 3 rounds focusing on a comboe of team needs and BPA and the later rounds looking to fill the roster for the future.

IMO, the Saints are beginning the transition to the post-Brees era. Investing heavily in a strong D to complement a more ball-control offense. Brees will still throw it around for a bit, but 3-4 years from now they will have no choice but to rely more heavily on the D.

I figured someone with as much journalistic fortitude as yourself, Mr. Duncan, would have a more compelling argument than "I feel it in my loins".
