The pieces are there. You've two pro bowl running backs, 3 pro bowl linemen, a hall of fame QB, a fringe top 5 receiver and a young defense that should improve.

The tricky part for the Saints is, do they continue to add pieces or are they content with what they have and make a run at Mayfield.

It's a choice, but I think as long as you don't give up a ransom, you go with Mayfield and add a few pieces in the draft and try to find gems in free agency.

Based on everything coming back, the Saints should remain a top 5 team and one of the top 3 Super Bowl favorites heading into next year.

You also have to deal with the Eagles getting Wentz back, the Packers getting Rodgers back, The Rams getting better, and any NFC team that may get Kirk Cousins (Arizona maybe?). Not to mention our own division is always really competitive. We went on a 8 game win streak and still didn't have the division locked up till the last week or so. We're gonna be good, but the NFC looks like it'll be a blood bath next year.

every bit of this...........i am extremely excited about next season, but lets not forget the rigors of the NFC south and NFC when all the prime QB's are back and healthy.

during that 8 game winning streak we never separated from our own division.....and oh btw, the eagles had a 9 game streak, vikings had their own 8 game streak as well. looking forward to an insane season where playoff spots and seeding will likely go down to the final week again.

Not sure why that's funny. We made a run in 2017, so it's not like that comment is far fetched.

As long as we don't completely screw up the draft, free agency, & have decent luck with injuries...I don't see why we won't be a better team next year.

The Saints are the boogeyman waiting under the bed.

Get a pass rusher and a solid nickel CB and the defense should be good if not great. We have solid LB play to float that boat.

We own the Panthers soul.

We can beat the NFC Champion version Falcons.

We should have beaten the Vikings.

I have zero fear.

This is with 21 fricking players on IR. Think about that. *IF* we stay healthy, we will be fighting the Eagles in the NFC Playoffs.

Need to go all out one last time during the Brees era. We have the money to do it big during free agency.

I'm not saying they can't do it from the wild card spot, but isn't the NFC South champ never winning the division the next year trend still in place?

Not saying we don't have a chance. Just that it'll harder than the OP may think.

they better get better...the rest of the best division in football will not wait on them...This division might be one of the strongest record wise by the end of next year...especially if they all split their games and no one runs away by sweeping the other 3.

The Eagles have the best roster coming back in 2018 and will probably be SB favorites along with New England.

Saints need a lot of pieces on defense to build off last season's momentum. Pretty much every position on D could stand to improve or add depth.

Offensively, need another TE and OT. Upgrading the 3rd WR definitely will be looked at as well.

Eagles might lose a few pieces due to the salary cap.

They will still be good but give me a break.

You can make an argument we had the best roster by having 21 players on IR and one fluke play away from the NFCCG.
