Did you watch the games?
There's a multitude of reasons why we were losing.

Look…….

In The Saints next few games they play some of the worst teams on the NFL.

We might not only win another game but maybe another 2 .

The Saint will be picking anywhere from
8 to say 12 in the draft.

So the extremely extremely talented players toward the top of the draft ….
we are too far down.

Again…. Saints will be targeting :

WR
OL
DL
S

Seeing as how we most likely arent going QB and many pundits are saying its a relatively weak class, we would be better off collecting wins.

Pretty sure 2024 was consider a strong QB class, but before that what was the last time the experts predicted a strong QB class in the 1-2 months before the draft. 2020? Then 2016?

They always talk about how strong next year's class is, but in leading up to it they will find their guy to put on the pedestal then discuss how weak the class is.

I am not asking about an "after we see who they" revisionist history.

If the Saints win because Shough balls out then I couldn’t even care less.

Getting hot with a new QB would make a great launching pad for a run to get back to relevancy next season. With a franchise QB on the roster now, a top 5 pick is not as essential.

Hopefully I get an actual rational response...

Tell me which is worth more:

We perhaps win one and still keep a top three to five pick...
We go 3-1 these last few games...

Personally I would lean toward being able to select Reese (probably going number one so a very long shot even at 3), Bain, Tyson, Love, Tate would be MUCH more beneficial to future success than getting a few meaningless wins at the end of a season.

Building a winning culture means a lot more than draft position!

And i mean Jacksonville has been drafting 1st overall every other year since 1996 feels like. What have they done. Being top 5, top 10 is perfectly fine.

I'd rather a few wins and momentum going into the off-season than worrying about dropping a couple of picks down. Nice to feel like you're not having to replace the whole team in the off-season, that there are some young guys to build around. Also, is there that big a difference in talent between pick 3 and pick 6?

Good. We aren’t going QB so experiencing wins matter more than draft at this point. We gonna get a good player regardless.

Very hesitant to take that stance. Wasn't a fan of the pick at all tbh but have been decently impressed with his performance. I was a Rattler guy but would love for him to prove me wrong. Man needs a competent O Line and need better receivers. Our receivers right now couldn't catch water if they fell out of a boat.

IF he gets that, I could somewhat sorta kinda maybe possibly see him being long-term solution.
