I’m told was poor coaching and bad playcalling.

I’m just happy the Saints don’t have that same problem, right?

Because it was the first season in years Dalton played significant time lol.

And we played conservative as hell.

Numbers wise, it looks like more of a volume thing, but I didn’t watch them at all last year.

Shouldn’t that cause softer defenses and more stat padding?

Think that might have had anything to do with turnovers and not being able to sustain drives?

And a shite defense, and a crap O-Line. and a dysfunctional locker room,

And well, the Raiders in general.

The Saints QB's poor play last season was due to, well the Saints poor QBs.

Dalton pass attempts the last 6 years...
2017 - 496
2018 - 365
2019 - 528
2020 - 333
2021 - 236
2022 - 378

He only broke 90 passer rating one time - 2022. He was at 95 this season.

Correct. See Winston’s last season with the bucks. He was a fantasy monster because he would throw 2 picks by half.

We barely asked Dalton to throw last year. As I said…..we played insanely conservative.

Dalton's 7.6 yds/att last year was the 2nd highest of his career; 8.4 in 2015 was his career high.

ETA... Dalton's 7.6 yds/att was 8th in the nfl

Apologies. I thought you would be able to understand without me having to spell it out for you like you’re a child.

Low risk passes. Focused on milking the clock. Slow tempo. Playing “not to lose” so to speak.

The yds/att (8th in nfl) doesn't support that.

I can go bump the thread where numerous posters were shitting all over Dalton at the beginning of the year, saying he’s nothing more than a journeyman qb, posted his bad numbers from Chicago, his best days are long gone, he only had good years in Cincy b/c of AJ Green etc etc.

Then he goes on to have a top 10 qb rating this year with two rookies as his best receiver and two tight ends that were a converted qb and receiver in college.

So which is it?

You still don’t get it but whatever. For what it’s worth, you are doing a bang up job of proving my point that we should just roll with Dalton for another season. Carr is going to need time to develop chemistry in the offense just like we saw with both Winston and Dalton. Dalton already has a season of running this offense under his belt.
