Taunting will be an officiating point of emphasis in 2021, NFL competition committee chairman Rich McKay said. Focused on things like finger pointing, standing over players. McKay said coaches requested this change.

CGJ is a good guy to have on your team.

I loved that he basically made the NFL change the rules because of him. Dude is ok in my book...as long as he's on our team.

There's mouthing off and then there's taunting. The former is all fun, but the latter needs to be kept in check.

The problem is in confusing the two for each other which is what the league is doing here. It's pussy shite.

Wasn't this already in the taunting rule, I've seen it called a number of times.

Seriously? If this was a rule in the 80s, Bobby Hebert would have ended up paying to play the game.

I don’t like any rule that adds flags to the game at the completely discretion of the referee. There is no clear cut on what “taunting” is and when it crosses each refs “line”

Could likely change outcomes of many drives and games over something that isn’t related to football plays.

Of course the NFL won’t actually fix the shite product on the field, though

This seems like a vague rule the NFL will use to keep games close, screw the Saints, or bail out Brady when they want.

Neither of which CJGJ does.

Now, he obviously talks some personalized/researched vile shite to bait opponents, which might be XXX-rated on NFL Mic'd Up, but body language taunting is not part of his game.

Maybe not... But it feels like he is a guy they had in mind when trying to re-enforce taunting rules.

Just dont be shocked when he gets called more for it next year.

Finger pointing is a flag now.

Humans, by nature, continually f@ck up a good thing.

It's in our DNA I guess.

Doesn't say anything about removing an opponent's mouthpiece.

I can’t wait to see the video of examples they use to show what’s taunting. My guess is he’s in there a decent bit

They want to take testosterone out of football for some reason.
