Article from Over The Cap detailing the hell Atlanta finds themselves in. Gives some historical evidence on just how poorly Dimitroff has fricked their franchise.
Soothing piece for anyone who still has in the back of their heads "Falcons will be back next year they're not THAT bad." They are a non-factor untill 2022 at the earliest.

Matt Ryan and Julio Jones will consume 27% of their cap in 2020. Steve Young and Jerry Rice set the Super Bowl record for a champion’s Top 2 cap expenses at 21.84% in 1994. Young’s cap hit of 13.1% is the highest cap hit for any Super Bowl champion in the 25 seasons of the salary cap era.

If you add Jake Matthews, Grady Jarrett, and Desmond Trufant, the Falcons top 5 cap hits will consume 50.6% of the cap. The Super Bowl record was set by the 2002 Bucs. Warren Sapp, Brad Johnson, Simeon Rice, Derrick Brooks, and Jeff Christy combined for 38.4% of the cap.

I remember discussing this with Falcon fans for the last two years. They have a very top heavy roster. Before last year, they were able to stay relatively healthy. Last year they were hit hard with injuries and had little depth. This year, they invested heavy in the draft to fix their offensive line. I believe both players are injured and they still have little depth behind those players.
Their defense is playing extremely undisciplined and they have a bad offensive line. There is not much good that falcon fans can hang their hats on for an optimistic outlook.

I like beating them when they are competitive.
2-3 games behind us competitive

Once they started to have to pay their young defensive players, the Super Bowl window started closing.
Combine that with paying Freeman a lot of money and not being able to figure out the OL...Yea, they’re fricked

I like always beating them. I hope they go 0-16 forever

So an NFL team has 53 players on a roster, the Falcons are spending $198.05 million on 22 players, plus dead money. This leaves the team with $1.95 million for 31 players, which leaves $62,903 per player.
Wow

Wtf happened to trufant? He was almost shut down and now he seems mediocre (and over paid).

They have to trade or cut like 7 of their top 10 players to just have a shot at filling out a roster next year.

28-3 ruined them more than anything.

If sanu is worth a second, I’m not sure we’re Aj Green shopping

Sanu was under contract for next year and only cost 6.5 mil next year (3.7 mil) left this year. So he was affordable. Sanders is not under contract next year. Will be cheaper. Not sure about Green.

Worried , they do suck, but when we play them, they will play like the 85 Bears.
We are their Superbowl. Beating
us is a silver lining yo their crappy season. They will probably try to purposely hurt Drew or Kamara.
They are " Dirty Turds" afterall.
