False, unless Sean Payton has NY on his head set. They have helped each others careers immensely.

But you always hear them use the tired cliché about his height. "He's soooooo short!" Midget bias.

They're too dishonest to admit that the real reason is he's in a small market.

Only makes what he does that much MORE impressive, not less. Anyone that says this is a moron.

I’ll play devils advocate. Rodgers is considered the GOAT or close to the GOAT and he plays in the Mecca of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

I’m not sure why Brees doesn’t get the respect, but I’m not sure it’s because of the market he plays in.

You really don’t think the Packers have a national fan base? They’re one of the oldest and most storied teams in the league. #BeRealSon

Not trying to be argumentative, but I thought the point was the media coverage. Green Bay does not get the media coverage of NY or LA. If we talking about storied franchises then your point is correct.

Yes they absolutely do. Every sports media outlet that covers football talks about the Packers.

Aside from that though, I think others brought up a good point that Brees has probably had the most difficult path to the playoffs every season and it's not even close. Not only has the NFC South had better QBs but Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Atlanta have usually fielded above average and at times excellent defenses. Some of the teams Manning and Brady faced put out a good one like the Jets or the Titans but their offenses were so damn bad it didn't matter. They would get left on the field and smoked at the end of it.

Green Bay ABSOLUTELY gets constant media attention and coverage - BECAUSE THEY ARE A VERY OLD, STORIED FRANCHISE WITH A NATIONAL FANBASE.

Rodgers' name is CONSTANTLY being brought up in the media.

Think about this: How much coverage has there been over the roughing the passer calls on Clay Matthews costing the Packers 2-3 victories? Would the coverage be the same if it had happened to Cam Jordan and the Saints instead? Hint: The answer is no, and you're just being argumentative if you think otherwise.

Green Bay is NFL Blue Blood. The Notre Dame of pro sports. Remember the name of the Super Bowl trophy? Where’d that guy coach? Come on, man.

The point of this thread is not that I think the media should be falling over themselves to tell us how awesome Drew Brees is. It’s that they fall over themselves to tell us all the excuses why others are better.

Drew’s 2011 season was the greatest statistical performance by a quarterback in history, in an offense that was arguably the greatest to ever see the field. Do you remember how the media fawned over themselves cherry picking stats to justify why Rodgers was better? Check Brees’ stat line. It was insane.

Drew will probably extend this record by another 7-10k yards before he retires and people are already telling us how short it will stand. It’s like they refuse to acknowledge how good he’s been for 20 freaking years. 9 people have passed for more than 5k yds. Drew’s done it 5 of those.

Doesn’t matter. History will be very kind to Brees. It will not matter that he hasn’t and won’t win an MVP.

At absolute best Brees is 3rd of his era regardless of team.

QB stats can absolutely be dependent on a teams wins and losses. Teams PASS a lot when they are trying to come from behind. Teams RUN a lot when they are winning the game.

Second, for many of Brees years in NOLA the Saints had bad defenses. Brees had to put up numbers in order to salvage 8-8 seasons.

To think that this has no effect on a QB’s stats is just not accurate.
