T or F: Brees is GOAT if he had NY on his Helmet

All else being equal, if you put the last 13 years of Saints history on the New York Giants, same stats and team record. Drew has the identical stats he’s had with New Orleans.
If this were true, Drew Brees has at least 3 MVPs and is in the conversation as 1A with Brady. Nobody’s making excuses for why a guy with one of the greatest statistical seasons in history doesn’t deserve the MVP because “Aaron Rodgers” if he’s playing in New York.

This has always been my argument. It's all about marketing and market size. If Drew played for NY, LA, Dallas...etc, or if he played for a team with a nationwide fan base, such as the Packers or Steelers, he'd most definitely be considered the best ever QB.

False. Not enough playoff success. Too many bad seasons too. How many losing seasons did Manning have? Won’t count Brady since hes got a defense but the colts were nothing special on d.

Not taking a thing away from manning but when u play the jags, texans, and titans 6 times a year, you will win that division a lot.

Brady is still GOAT but Brees has at least 2 nfl MVP awards if he played in NY.
This is a stone cold fact.

This is almost never mentioned in debates but the NFC South has been the hardest division to play in for the majority of the Brees era. Rodgers fan boys live to bring up the dome argument, but they run away when you point out how god awful the competition in the NFC North has been.

He would be more highly regarded.
But really these GOAT conversations are stupid. At the top of these lists it is impossible to differentiate between Brees, Brady, Manning, and Rodgers. Football is too much of a team game with too many moving parts. And qb's from different eras just aren't really comparable.

The Colts with Manning consistently had a better defense than the Saints with Brees. This is a fact.
This was a good breakdown on the msb

If Drew had a star on his helmet...

Was listing to Ryan Clark on Moscona today and his argument was Brees doesn’t have any MVPs. I’m just saying 2011 was a travesty and if Drew played on a big market team that debate never even happens.

When did Brees have a bad season here?

Could you imagine? The Joe Buck outtakes alone could cure AIDS.

Manning gets lumped in to the conversation and he played in Indy

quote:Manning had people building him up as potentially being one of the greatest since he was in Jr high school, and he was the 1st pick of the NFL draft. His play certainly validated his being in the conversation as the greatest ever. The difference is Brees has always had naysayers. Manning has not. It's much easier for someone to say they're right, as opposed to admitting that they could be wrong. I personally feel like Brees and Manning are pretty equal in ability. They're both pretty damn great.

No other division in football since realignment has sent all their teams to the Superbowl
Since 2009, 3 have gone
No other division has 2 NFL MVP QBs and that excludes a first ballot HOF'er at the position
Winston is our worst QB right now and he would probably be the best QB Brady has ever had to face as a division rival if he was in the East.
Buttfumble, Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, Jay Fielder, Tannehill, Tyrod, JP Losman, etc etc
Mannings tenure in the AFC South was a little "tougher" minus McNair. The expansion Houston Texans, Leftwich, Garrard, Collins, Locker, Schuab, David Carr etc
