Sure wish we could've had a cheap qb on a one year prove it deal...

And drafted a rookie qb like Hooker, or simply tank if it didnt work out and go after a qb in 2024. Would've been easily the best play. Helps the cap, etc. If it works out you make the playoffs in a bad division then upgrade at qb next year.
Too bad we didn't have a qb like that, let's say 29 years old, familiar with the system we run. Won here more than he lost, big arm, great teammate.

Theres no qb out there better than Dalton/Winston that will take a 1 yr prove it deal. Outside the AK suspension, we are built to win now if we stay healthy.

Are we though? Our O line is pretty meh, our defense is aging on the back end, our line is getting thinner. I guess it depends on what you mean by winning now.

this team is too good to tank, especially when you consider the division. We would have still backed our way into 7 wins with our roster

Saints management decided to go the "we still have a good enough roster and need the best qb we can get category"
Hopefully your dead wrong and the Saints management made the right call.
If the Saints make the playoffs next year, will you still think they should have tanked? The tank makes me uneasy because there is zero guarantee you will return to form or that you will draft a good QB. Tons of drafted QB's flame out every year.
I'm of the opinion that if you think you can still win then you do everything possible to still win. This moves puts a very good NFL veteran QB under center for the Saints.

I’ve been calling for this for two years now after Brees retired. Woukd have saved us from giving that stupid extension to Winston.
