Here’s an interesting curve ball for the New Orleans Saints offseason: a potential second sprint with former running back Darren Sproles. Sproles said he would retire following the 2018 season as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, but he may not be ready to hang his cleats up just yet.

Per a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, who shared his insight during an appearance on Philadelphia-area radio 97.5 The Fanatic Morning Show with hosts Marc Farzetta, Tra Thomas, and Bob Cooney, Sproles may feel like he can still play at a high level. And if the diminutive runner does come back for one more season at age 35 (he’ll turn 36 in June), he’d like to do it in a familiar locker room.

Could take a load off of Kamara and also some hits if he can come back strong.

He wasn’t very happy with the team when he was traded. Maybe things have changed but I doubt it.

What’s changed is that he’s washed and wants one more paycheck, and he sees the Saints picking up every RB off the street they can.

It was initially announced we were releasing him then we traded him. He probably wanted to pick his spot but he probably got over it given how it worked out for him in Philly.

Sproles is still lighting in a bottle at his age.

I’d take him back in a heartbeat.

no, he wasnt pissed he was traded, he was pissed that the team never even told him they were trying to trade him and he found out he was traded by seeing it on the news.

if it went down the way it was reported to as he said then you can see where he had a bit of WTF about the situation

beyond that i think the guy retired for a reason, he isnt the man he used to be and he knows it. could he be a backup to come in for guys, probably, but we have younger and faster guys who can do that better.

he just misses the game and hoping someone is desperate enough to sign him, we arent that team

He was told by Payton he was being released. Then soon after that he found out he was being traded from Twitter. Then he went on a public outrage campaign talking about how much the management "disrespected" him, as if the head office did it on purpose to frick with him. Then his bitch wife went full ghetto-trash on Twitter, like anyone gave a shite what she thinks. It's a business. He went from being fired to traded. You would think a veteran of professional football would get it: it's a business. But no, he had to act like it was personal and came across like a pouty a-hole.
