Sporting News projects Saints as #1 NFC seed, but Cowboys winning Superbowl

They have the Saints going 13-3, Packers and Cowboys going 12-4, and the Rams going 11-5.
NFC South prediction:
Entering 2019, the NFC South has a strong argument as the best division in the NFL. A deep playoff run for the Saints, Falcons or Panthers should surprise nobody, and the Buccaneers, even in a coaching transition, have enough talent to make some noise of their own.
This also makes the NFC South the NFL's biggest pain to predict. Defending-champion New Orleans is the favorite to win what would be its third consecutive title, but Carolina and Atlanta are a sniff of Saints blood away from chomping at the bit.
Three things factored into the Falcons and Panthers both falling to 7-9 last year and allowing the Saints to run away with the division: injuries, injuries and injuries. Will presumed health in Atlanta and Carolina bring the records closer together, or is New Orleans that much more talented than its challengers?
NFC Divisional Round prediction -- Cowboys over Packers, Saints over Eagles
Dallas didn't get its desired outcome in this round as the host against Green Bay a couple years ago, but this time, the Cowboys will grab the lead, build on it and hold it to put the game away. Rodgers will get stuck in a more ground-heavy affair, with the tougher defense deciding who advances.
The Saints were pushed by the Eagles in the playoffs last season, but they will find a happy medium between blowout and comeback in what turns out to be a classic, high-scoring game.
NFC Championship Game prediction -- Cowboys over Saints (which would happen in the Superdome)
Dallas will survive a tough playoff field because it will be the team most adept at winning on both lines of scrimmage while also letting Prescott loose for big plays. Trading conservatism for more aggressiveness overall will change the results in Dallas from good to great.
The Cowboys have been to the playoffs 10 times since they last won the Super Bowl 24 long years ago. Much to the delight of Jerry Jones, they will take full advantage of their first NFC championship appearance since 1995.
The Cowboys are a tough matchup for the Saints because they bring the right brand of physicality. While New Orleans thinks about what could have been yet again, Jason Garrett will finally stop hearing about what could have been had Jones landed Sean Payton as Dallas' coach, instead.
Superbowl prediction -- Cowboys 31 Chiefs 27
The NFL is screaming for a "new" Super Bowl. SN's prediction for the 2019 seasonwould be exactly that.
What better way to end the NFL's 100th season than to see the Chiefs try to win their first Super Bowl in 50 years before the Cowboys win their first in 24 years? The upcoming season is about tapping into professional football's history but also fast-forwarding to its future.

Not a bad write-up, but if I were doing these predictions I would be leery of having Dallas be successful in the playoffs until they have some actual success in the playoffs. It's almost as bad as all those years when "experts" had Schottenheimer's Chargers going to the championships and SB; yet he couldn't win playoff games.
I also think it's funny how much they talk up the other teams in the south then have Atl & Car both at 8-8 and TB at 3-13.

Cowgirls. El oh El.

Saw that, too. There is no plane of existence anywhere in which this team loses the NFCCG two years in a row. At home.

More like the best division for a decade

I would have to move from Dallas if that happened. F that.

I think this is a case of someone trying to fight last year's war. Dallas had a good gameplan for us and executed it perfectly. Our offense did not play well with Drew behind a banged up OLine and no second option at WR.
All those things could happen again, sure, but I'm still picking the Saints in the Dome with a chance for a do-over.
EDIT: Just went back and looked at the box score. Totally forgot we only lost by 3 and the D shut them out after halftime. We definitely win that game if it's in the Dome.

Exactly what I was thinking. Kind of a lazy prediction basis. Saints ain't losing 2 NFCCGs at home in a row.

Saints will be ready for the Cowgirls this year.

Cowboys beat Saints in the NFCCG on a Reversed Pass Interference No-Call in the End Zone.

Yeah I forgot how true that was until I looked at the box score again.

...and the refs missed an illegal hit on Kamara late in the game that would have kept a drive moving.
They didn’t miss the hit later when they fined the Dallas player $25K the following week.

What they plan on doing for this to happen? Another Saints screwjob to send the Cowboys to the Super Bowl.

The NFL is either unable or unwilling to officiate its game product consistently and within any well-established parameters. This is its 100th year of business.
As such, I see its product for what it really is: a show -- pure entertainment masquerading as serious sports competition. 32 stockholders in the entire world. Personal wealth of 1 Billion US Dollars not enough to own one of the 32 franchises.
I have much less interest in this product than I did in years past, that's certain.
