Really hope his play last year after thanksgiving was an injury

It was our offensive line having the worst pass protection in the league

Anybody who watched last year is at least a little bit concerned about Drew’s play after Thanksgiving.

Concerned? Ehhhh maybe
I know there’s speculation of being a little banged up. Obviously there were some injuries on the o line, and you can also talk about the top heavy production, but I’m hoping that it was just a tricky end to the season.

The cowboys game was pretty brutal. Tough road game against a great defense. But then you look from there -
Tampa seems like they are always a thorn in the side type of game, especially on the road. Seemed like the funk from the cowboys game spilled over into the Bucs game, but then shook it off in the second half.
Carolina was pretty cold and we all know that’s tough.
Steelers game I thought he played pretty well.
Both playoff games, I thought he played well enough to get to the super bowl. A few mistakes here or there, but it’s the playoffs. It’s all or nothing, and in both games he drove the team down the field when it mattered most in the 4th.

I know what we are talking about is something you can’t really quantify. You watch and it’s something you just notice there’s something different. He didn’t really have a classic “Drew” game, where he went off for 400 and it’s a TD parade, but I think there were some tricky circumstances down the stretch regarding the schedule.

i saw some duds down the stretch from him and was shocked by it.

The Saints had chances to put their foot on the Rams throat earlier and it didn't happen. I think the offense lost us that game.

Drew Brees got hurt the last 2 seasons. In 2017 he took some damage to his elbow (lets just say i know someone who knows a guy who did an un-annouced MRI on brees 2 years ago. He ended up wearing an arm sleeve for a few weeks and our whole offense played the short game up until about week 15. Last year he injured his shoulder i dont remember which game but it was on a play where bushrod got beat and brees got his arm ripped back while throwing a pass and he wasnt the same the rest of the year.

I mean anyone who has watched Drew since 06 can see its not the same...it takes a whole lot for him to throw not that far these days. The deep stuff is all but gone now. The decline is here and its been for a couple years now. We can all thank God it was not a Peyton Manning cliff drop though. Dude is still smart and still has a great offensive mind as a coach. We can still scheme around a lack of a deep game for now...
