Even better

Just leave it alone and watch them out themselves as idiots. You can see some of the usual suspects already.
There has been 15 GM vacancies since Dimitroff got canned. Guy hasn’t got a job since 2020.
Loomis also did this with Dave Ziegler, who lasted 1.5 years as the Raider GM after he hitched his wagon to Josh McDaniels
Let’s not forget Joe Dumars, who could not get a job anywhere but here after half a decade out of work.
There is a retard here, probably the guy who hasn’t produced a winner in a long time

Not an NFL job. He did help start up a football analytics company named SumerSports in 2022. Also interviewed for a couple of GM jobs (Jets & Titans), but was not the hire.
He started as a scout, so I would assume his forte is talent evaluation as opposed to contracts like Mickey.
Anyway, my point was that he is not a laughable hire as some are seemingly implying. He's also not a homerun hire on paper.
He may turn out to be either a bust or a homerun, but I'm not sure there is any way to decide that yet.

Consultant for what? His talent evaluation is garbage

Built some good squads. Made it to the super bowl and narrowly lost in the nfccg to the 49ers. Also was with the patriots during their dynasty era.

Why Why Why? Loomis needs to be fired yesterday.

This is a great hire. I know Tom, partly because of my family ties with Mike Smith, but he has a very good understanding of all facets of football and the NFL. My guess is he is the shoe-in for the GM position after Mickey retires.

Why though? Any GM who has managed a franchise for as long as Mickey has made mistakes and missed on things. He gets a lot of criticism for the cap situation, but he was primarily following marching orders from Lauscha and Benson. The mentality was (going back to when we had Brees) that they had the best coach, a strong roster, and the best QB the Saints would ever see. So they kept adding pieces.
Hell, even when Brees' shoulder was shot in his last two seasons, the roster for the Saints was so good that they had a real shot every year. Pushing the bill off until the following year was the price for that competitiveness.
He got a lot of flak around him sticking up for DA, but what would you have liked him to say? "Yeah, our coach sucks and we don't have faith in him either?"
Thats the kind of crap Jerry Jones does.

No GM gets the leash Loomis has and any GM mired in this current stretch that we have been in would have been fired. Bill won 6 super bowls and couldn’t keep his job. The past successes doesn’t guarantee future success.

how?
he's better than having just Loomis in there.

But what tangible reasons would you have to fire Mickey? I'm not his biggest fan either for what its worth, but he didn't lose those playoff games on the field for us. He didn't cause the referees to fail to do their jobs against the Rams. He didn't coach the defense that gave away (what should have been) a comeback win in Candlestick in the 2011 season. Other than the bad choices in 2012-2015, I don't put all of the misfortune on him.
The Saints left two Lombardis on the field during the CSP era, I put those squarely on coaching and a corrupt league.
I think of how dominant the Saints were from 2009 - 2011 and 2016 - 2019, I find trouble with not giving credit to Loomis for making the numbers work to keep them in the mix. Hell, the defense was so over-corrected that we were one of the best teams in the NFL regular season for a few years after the wheels fell off of the offensive bus.

We are 30-38 over the last four seasons. We are on our second HC post Payton. We’ve been through a few QBs and still arent sure we have a guy. We have an older roster devoid of young, top end talent. In doing all this, we’ve sacrificed previous draft capital and have spent frivolously. We haven’t been able to fill key positions through the draft
I acknowledge the past success. We had a generational QB, though, and it made a lot of things easier. It made sense to push the cap and other unconventional things to try and win now. But how many years does that success buy you? He’s had the chance to show an upward trajectory and has failed.

If anything Saints can really benefit from an outsiders view. I welcome it and all experienced eyes we can accumulate.
