This article might be garbage... but for some reason I keep clinching to anything optimistic that I can get my hands on lol

we need to even this thing up now. going 0-2 and then 1-4 in 1st quarter of seasons has not fared us well. 1-1, and we're already taking gigantic steps forward as a team.

Considering the opponent, the situation and the odds, I think it would be a huge step for this team to win this weekend. But I in no way expect it or really think it is all that likely.

The best we can really expect this point is for them to put up a fight.

I definitely think it's important to go 1-1..... But everybody claiming that the Carolina and Miami game are improbable wins are ridiculous

Somebody tell me why Carolina is good? And Miami is just simply blah like they are every year. Cutler's probably going to trot out on the field with 12 Guinness already down the hatch

Compared to how we looked last week, a replacement team would be good.

Thanks for the link.

But I think this article is a little more appropriate at the moment.

"Saints Fans are Tired of Looking for a Silver Lining."
quote:

You’ll forgive me for rolling my eyes at the same standard cliches from Sean Payton’s post-game presser, “dirty hands,” “we’ll take a look at the tape,” “we weren’t good enough.” No coach, you weren’t and you haven’t been for three years. And we’re damn tired of it.
quote:

Think I’m overreacting? Ponder this, after all the talk this offseason about starting fast, about the need to improve on the defensive side of the ball, when the Saints lined up for their first defensive snap of the year, they only had ten men on the field. That is inexcusable. Let me repeat, they only had ten men on the field. That falls directly on Sean Payton and Dennis Allen.
quote:

I’ve been a sucker before over the last three years. “Stay calm, it’s only one game.” “The offense will get going.” “The defense will get better once they get healthy.” “They’re young, they’ll get it.” No more. NO MORE. Until the Saints actually prove it on the field, I’m done trying to conjure positivity from heartbreak.

A crown and coke
Or
A skeeter leg
Or
Dennis Allen running the same D scheme we saw all preseason. Forget the damn zone read shite and play man press and blitz a friggin linebacker and quit dropping Cam Jordan into coverage.

Still rather see Cam in coverage over Harris.

One thing that gave me some hope from that game was the athleticism of this defense is noticeably improved. Swarming to ball carriers, making tackles in the backfield. Good things will come from that.

I get the criticism Allen is getting for the game plan that night as it seemed the exact opposite of the things they were doing in the preseason that was successful, but we don't know exactly what looks he was seeing from their offense. Whatever it was it either had him fooled or the players on the field couldn't recognize it.

The offense will be ok. That was a stout defense with two elite edge rushers. If we punch some of those redzone opportunities into touchdowns it's a different ballgame

Do y'all honestly think the pats who in many eyes have a better roster than last years Super Bowl team are going to go 0-2

Don't give me that. Saints Road Wars are largely exaggerated. Carolina has no home field advantage for a noon kickoff..... Stadium will be 70% full and half asleep

Without Edleman, Hightower, and Amendola? Very likely the game will heavily favor the Saints unlike anyone here or in the media would let on.
