If CKM wants him to stick around who wouldn't be on board.
Coach has been very adaptive everywhere he's gone. Going to be fun to see him build his own style the next couple of years.

More depth than a guy who literally plays 7 different positions?

Yes cut Hill. Add DeMario and Cam as well on overpriced vets.

So when he gets hurt AGAIN.... we are now down '7' positions.

Using that money to pay for better backup oline or wrs probably would have helped more last season. Hill is a luxury and starting to get to become a vintage luxury. Cut bait now.

He’s got one year left on his contract. We just freed up a bunch of cap room with Carr retiring. Who could you legitimately add that would give more value than Taysom with Hill’s salary that you cannot get via the cap space created from Carr’s retirement?

I would rather cut bait now and have another team sign him. There is no need to keep him on the team and have Loomis give him some sort of retirement contract. It's a business not a charity. If losing Hill cost us a victory or two I call that a win since we will have a better draft pick.

Ok frick face tell me the equivalent role/player Moore had in any of his previous stops? Or tell me what position he plays well enough to play full time? I love Taysom, I’m asking questions?

Tush push goal line qb. He’s literally the best possible player for this.

So you’re going to pay an injury prone, aging guy coming off an ACL $10m to be your tush push QB?! When it may even be banned?!

Tush Push Ban?

Yes, just like I am going to pay him to play TE, block, catch passes out of the backfield, and occasionally start at QB. The metrics from last season show just how much better (night and day) the offense performs when Taysom is on the field. That sort of efficiency jump is well worth his salary.

I’m not arguing Taysom’s production when he’s on the field. That’s a fool’s errand.

My points (questions) are:

1- Does Moore have a role for him in his offense? Is there another specialty player he’d rather use that roster spot on? For instance, keep an extra OL instead. We don’t know.
2- How do the Saints view him RE: age, injury? This is a new coaching staff. See #1. We don’t know.
3- Are they willing to pay him a nice chunk of cap space to likely be a player you aren’t likely to get a full season out of? We don’t know.

Now if Moore does have a “vision for the player” (Paytonism) then I think the answer is obvious. Cap doesn’t seem to be an issue for the upcoming season. Then you keep him. I’m fine with that.

The OP asked “should we”. I think it’s a good time to move on. I’ve always loved Taysom, he’s been amazing. Best case Moore carves out a Swiss Army knife role in his offense, Taysom comes back stronger than ever and doesn’t miss a game. I’m betting against all 3 happening.

Is he at 100% Chad? I haven't heard. If he's not will be interesting to see if CKM hands him 10 mil in June.

i mean assuming his recovery is going well which he mentioned around February it was, i still doubt he's 100% at this time. It sort of helps parlay why a 1 yr extension makes sense for both parties.

Well we’ll see what the Saints think soon enough. Lot of unknowns. In the spirit of OP’s question I say it may be time to move on and use the roster spot on an additional position player like an OL.

Yep

Probably not playing this year and even if he does he’s 35 coming off an ACL. Juice isn’t worth the squeeze anymore
