Should I be concerned about the fact Winston is wearing Aaron Brooks' number?

Just realised this while watching highlight videos.

I know being superstitious is idiotic, but I'm also a life long Saints fan who still considers Dalton Hilliard to be my favorite Saint of all time.

All that Football Hou-Dou shite seems to be engrained in me and I want y'all to help me see the light.

So you're concerned that our new QB is wearing the same number as a former QB who happens to be the 3rd best QB in team history? Why should this concern you in the least?

Are you old enough to understand this is a ridiculous thing to be concerned about?

Drew Brees wore Joe Burrow’s future number. And yes that is the correct syntax.

So it took you watching highlights to realiZe (not realise) that Winston wears the same number that Brooks did? Not watching 3.5 hours of the actual game? I take it to mean you probably don’t watch the games, hence your ridiculous post. Have a downvote

Brooks was a pretty good qb. The Katrina season and smiling after int’s are the only things people remember to bitch about unfortunately

Actually, I watched the entire game. I even posted here during the game.

I just realised (and I typically use the English nonmenclature and punctuation rules in my writing) this fact while watching some highlight and reaction videos.

This is true. I still believe that we jumped the gun by making him the guy and dropping Jeff Blake though.

Brooks did win our first playoff game, and it seemed like he could be our Brady/Bledsoe situation, but it was Blake who got us to the playoffs.

I still believe that we should have given Blake one more year and let Brooks back himup one more.

This is the main point of contention. Mainly because it became more and more of the norm.

By Katrina, it just seemed like he didn't care anymore.

Maybe that angle is wrong, but it's hard to forget. And it wasn't just him, but it the whole organisation. It seemed to be the mindset of everyone on the team by 2004 until Payton took over.

I believed that at the time but now I think running with Brooks was the right call. Brooks' upside was way too good to ride the bench for a guy like Blake who at best was a Teddy Bridgewater type.

IF our defense was better in 2001, maybe. Brooks is not the reason we missed the playoffs in 2001. Our whole team fell apart in December. We were 7-5 after we just spanked the Falcons in Atlanta (with the help of a rookie Deuce McAllister having a long rushing TD and a passing TD) then our defense decided to completely call it a wrap giving up 34, 48, 40, and 38 points in our last 4 games.

In 2002, Brooks was having a great year until he hurt his shoulder and the coaches just left him in there the last 4 weeks instead of resting him for the playoffs. Our offense was absolutely anemic with a Brooks who couldn't throw more than 20 yards.

No you shouldn't be concerned...in fact you shouldn't be worried at all. You really shouldn't even care. He is doing just fine so far. This is the problem with society today, everyone is always worried about little things that they can't control. Stop worrying and embrace the moment. I have spoken!

Yes it’s all part of a long con by Winston, CSP, and ownership to crater the value of the franchise
