re: Shough has to start and be good next year to justify this pick, right?

I already said it’s unlikely Shough becomes the guy.

But I have an issue with the “what about next years class” take. Like I said, Carson Beck was QB1 this time last year. Cam Ward isn’t magically a better prospect because he was drafted 1.1 and if he’s an upgrade over Will Levis and counts as a hit on that scale but still flames out, then who cares?

I’m ok with saying I don’t know about Shough. You’re making a bunch of assumptions about next years class, our draft spot, etc.

You are making your case with outliers. No one denies there are outliers. Odds of success is the issue.

I’m saying there are 4 or 5 guys in the 2026 class that are better prospects than Shough RIGHT NOW.

Not sure why you keep avoiding that point.

That’s a lot generally happens when doing so destroys whatever position someone has chosen in a debate

my bigger problem w the entirety of this thread is acting like using a 40 pick to swing for a qb is the end of the world if he doesn’t become an all pro qb. Jesus and I’m being called the emotional one lmao

Because it’s an opinion that may or may not be true.

We just don’t have that kind of time with Shough. That’s kinda his point

The safest path was to land another badly needed starter and address QB next year.

Every QB Chad and the others are listing were very good to great college QBs. Shough is a bad to at best mediocre college QB that has proven nothing despite playing 7 years.

Ok, we’ll see. Carson Beck went 1.1 last night, so maybe you’re right.

We are one of the least talented teams in the NFL. This is a shitty QB draft.

If you want a project, draft a project in rounds 4 or later.

Shough isn't a project. Drafting a guy at his age, at 40, means he has to be a starter in 2025. It's not a project.

With this pick, that's the only thing that makes logical sense.

No you’re just an idiot that doesn’t know what he’s talking about and when pressed you scurry off.

“Durrrr he’s experienced and seasoned” well no he’s just old ya fricking idiot. If you bothered to look anything before flapping your fat arse mouth you’d know that

“Durrrr saints are the most injury plagued team over the last 5 years” well actually no they aren’t and the stats say otherwise

“Durrrr this roster is good” ok Chad name some guys on this roster considered top 5 on this roster.

You’re an idiot chad

I guess they should have drafted the qb that they aren’t planning on winning a Super Bowl with
