Drew knew he was done after last year, also knew Brady and Payton wanted to team up. There was no way he was going to let that happen. The thoughts he had knowing if Tom won it all with his team.

I would only fault him for playing last week if he knew better.

At some point a good veteran team player takes themself out.

I think this is a BS thread....Brees had earned the right to say when it was over...

Now there could be conversation between Brees, Payton and management about when to hang it up.

I suspect that up until this year those conversation were all on Brees. The Saints could not have let him go to another team and finish his career.

Your statements are contradictory.

Your second one implies that your first one is true.

I mean, were we saying this when we went to their house and beat them 38-3?

No teams retire players all the time.
Drew has done a lot but he was done last season. If he gets to decide if he says he wants another run at it in 2021 you let him do it. ??????
He has no arm left. He never had the best arm, but it's gotten worse and he cant get the short windows open because all the safeties cheat up because they dont expect or respect the deep ball.

Good thing for you that you’re saying this here and not out in public. Because you’d get laughed out the room for making such an idiotic statement.

Just because you don`t agree with him doesn`t make him
wrong. The fact that he played being as injured as he was
tells you he was selfish. The man could`nt throw te ball
20 yds which if you know anything about defense you understand you are taking away most of the field.
The NFL aint feelgood political games ,its about winning
SUPERBOWLS. Brees should have sat his arse down for the
berrerment 0f his TEAM.

Yeah, this is such a smart post, full of insight and well thought out. They tell brees every year to think about what you want to do then let us know. They don’t tell him “oh yeah, if you don’t we’re going to get Brady.” To even think that the one player who has changed the entire culture of this team and city is somehow selfish just makes you look like a fukin idiot.

How so?
I would fault him for playing if he knew he shouldn't.

I believe a good team mate should know better.

I'm not his team mate nor do I know any of this as fact

So you don’t think Drew asked what’s their plan without him?

I love when people are being selfish by judging others for supposedly being selfish. Like who the frick are y’all to say whether or not Brees starts? That would be Payton’s call. Brees is (was) our starting qb last weekend. End of discussion.

MAGA Tom in the same locker room with Michael Thomas and Malcolm X Jenkins? I'd have loved seeing this.

You’re an idiot if you think an athlete of Brees’ caliber even asked that question.

You think we are upset? Just think about how the Patriots fans must feel watching their most beloved player in team history going to the Super Bowl in his first year with his new team. Oooof !
