Told my friend yesterday when we saw that play that I finally realized it was Payton all along the league hates and not the Saints.

Why would the league hate 1/32 of itself? It's too valuable.

The ONLY thing that would’ve made that ending better is if SP was the HC of the Rams rather than the Broncos.

Bunch of butt hurt beta bitches in here. He coached us for well over a decade and his gf and probably him wanted to get out of the shite hole that Nola has become. I don’t blame him.

The real problem and CSP shined a huge light on it is Goodell. And some of you sound like you are supporting Goodell more out of spite b/c you got dumped. Pretty disgusting if you ask me.

Maybe it's just me, but I cannot comprehend what you are saying here. Even after you edited it.

I don't get the hate either. The guy brought a Lombardi to NOLA. Yea he left under strange circumstances, but that happens in many professions when someone has been there over a decade.

People don't take kindly to a coach striking out on draft picks and FA signings, then cutting and running rather than trying to right the ship.

At some point he was no longer going to be our coach. A fairy tale, ride off into the sunset ending just isn’t likely. Is he required to stick around until he gets fired?

People on here are celebrating the NFL and Goodell bending him over again. I don’t have the hate most on here apparently have. He did the impossible, got a championship in Nola. He brought respectability back to an organization that had none.

Should he have won more with Brees. Probably, but the front office, him included made some piss poor free agent signings and bad drafts that probably stole a few of Brees prime years by putting crappy defenses on the field year after year.

The real issue is Goodell and his ego and the crooked refs that have shown irrefutable evidence against CSP and the saints. And nothing is still being done about. But hey let’s celebrate that…..

You can appreciate what he did and still not like how he left.

Fact of the matter is he tried to bolt multiple times. So why should i keep trying to defend him? And believe me i have.

The guy thought he can take his guys and win anywhere. Maybe they'll turn it around. But so far its looking like a bust and its hilarious

No, but to stage a fake retirement and say i will only play for x number of teams trying to decrease his value so he can slip into a comfy situation sucks.

And yes, he is looking out for his best interest. But guess what, as a Saints fan i just care about ours...his moves backfired and he deserves it.

Id bet good money he thought he would get that chargers job and was pissed when they kept staley. He settled for Denver. Oh well

How did he try to bolt multiple times though? Unless you believe every rumor that came out which most are nonsense.

So I get the broncos look like dog shite but lets be real they lost 2 games by a combined 3 points the first 2 games of the season, we meanwhile barely beat the titans. Who knows what happens but way too early to be gloating here and saying it looks like a bust season with 15 games left to play. I honestly think Sean never wanted Russ and they’re not on the same page- thats the major issue.

“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

I always think of this quote from Batman when it comes to star players and coaches. Kinda also happened to Brees here at the end.

I believe Loomis himself had confirmed they almost delt him to Indy. Now do you believe we would just deal him just because?

How many coaches around the league are routinely in trade talks?

Do i believe everyone? No, was there enough smoke there to believe something was there, yes.

Do you believe his retirement was legit? Because its pretty silly when he had people calling around for his services just months after retirement

The first game he lost because of a kicker he traded for. That can absolutely be directly tied to him. This last game they blew an 18 point lead.

I like how you say we barely beat the titans as if there is some BCS style point system we have to account for.

That rumor was in 2020 that the colts were interested in him. I don’t believe Loomis confirmed anything unless you can show me otherwise?

How has he routinely been in trade talks? Most coaches aren’t in trade talks because honestly most aren’t good enough but you’re acting like Sean was routinely trying to get traded based off crap rumors. No offense, but you’re trying to find a reason to get pissed off at him. I mean lets be real not only did he routinely win here, he won a championship but we even got decent compensation when trading him. Like seriously what else do you want? For him to die coaching the saints or to just retire and never coach again because it makes you feel better as a fan?

Like i said... i appreciate what he did and will routinely defend him as a coach while he was here. That job he did with 4 QBs his last year was one of his better jobs.

As a saints fan i dont like how he left. Im not looking to be mad about anything its how i feel. Just like your ok with it. Thats fine as well
