Sean Payton is a coward

Not that I blame him, but it doesn't change the fact that he's running scared.
1. After seeing he doesn't have a Brees, Brady, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Stafford, Jackson...and that there are no obvious ones on the horizon...and all he has is Winston & Taysom (or worse)...or that he'd have to pay a premium for a used car in Rodgers or Wilson, it's just easier to bolt.
2. His star WR is a major pain in the arse.
3. His mediocre team is in salary cap hell and the roster is about to get even worse by cutting some big names & not being able to re-sign some key UFAs.
4. Losing Ireland & Dennis Allen was a real possibility this past week, prior to SP's announcement.
5. It's easier to take some time off with the new wife, maybe even take a weekend booth job, then get roses & candy from every billionaire owner from Dallas to New York to Vegas.

Man, Eli Apple was right about some of yall.
Im grateful for the job Payton has done. Wish him well whatever he does.
Some of yall just plain suck.

The man has done a tremendous job since he got here. 15 years of a stressful job is a lot. It's a sport or hobby for you but this is his job so get over it and stop trying to bash him on his way out.

I agree for today.
But will probably feel differently once the shock has worn off and I can reflect on the last 16 years.

You realize at his age that years are limited and change is good for people. Get busy living!!

Lmao at how many of y'all on this board keep acting like Sean Payton "owes" something to the team or fans. Do you tards realize he's just an employee, with an annual salary that is paid for doing a job just like anyone else who has a job? None of y'all have ever quit a job? The man has had enough and he's stepping down, that's all.

TD honestly makes me embarrassed to call Louisiana home more often than not.

People here get very insecure when things don’t go their way

Not running scared, it could be a million reasons or as simple as he's tired of the scenery "saints organization " and is going to take some time off until the job he wants opens up, possibly Dallas.
I just wish he would have the nuts to be honest and say that. Dallas has a pretty good roster and a quarterback. He walks in day one and most is in place. I just wish he wouldn't have given Taysom that contract as a going away present, that Mickey Loomis has to worry about and not him.
But good luck working for Jerry in the future

A coward and a quitter
We’ll never know for sure who was the bigger choke- him or Brees
Maybe it was both of them?

No one is honest. Sean isn’t either.

Sounds pretty good to me. We won a ring here.
Should have had the chance for a couple more but the refs and Gregg Williams shite defenses messed it up.

I don't blame him. I'd run, too.
You see, I'm a coward, so I know one when I see one. I own it. He should, too.
His laudable production here doesn't absolve him for being yellow-bellied. It's easier to run than risk ruining his legacy/reputation while wasting the next 3 years in an office/field 24/7 rebuilding.

Some of yall already shite on Drew. Hell, with the reaction he has gotten from fans like you its just confirmation he did the right thing.
You're just mad he left on his terms and not yours.
