Again I don’t care what he says. That is what he supposed to say.

I pay attention to what he does. They don’t even trust him to be the backup chad lol

Nobody is denying his talent as a runner/playmaker but there isn’t anything to show that he is the guy at qb. He threw one pass in that game bc Vikings were daring us to go deep but it wasn’t really that great of a throw and was actually under thrown. Harris should have scored on that play. Now it was a 50 yard pass so I’m not going to criticize it for being a little off but it doesn’t really show you anything.

They aren't sure. They want options and think he COULD be the future starter but really don't know.

Yup.

Why wouldn't we want Jameis and Taysom to compete for the job???????

My only concern is Hill's cap hit next year

You had at least one guy in here say he'd take Hill over Kamara

Would be kind of shocked if we signed kamara

Why? They've had this type of stuff soft planned out for years. They know what they can realistically do and what they can't. It won't prevent them from keeping the players they want to.

Not to mention they ALWAYS know how to work the cap and quite often (like VERY often) give guys a first year hit of $2 mil.

You mean when our hall of fame quarterback missed games that would have caused us o miss the playoffs? That was when our season was on the line

Bunch, a 30yr old QB with 10 career passes needs reps. His development is already severely severely stunted given his age, lack of experience, and poor throwing measures. If he is your guy, he needs game reps.

Uh... as long as Drew Brees is on the roster you aren't in a position to give his replacement meaningful game reps. Same reason you aren't going to see Winston get meaningful game time, either. Arguably Hill will see more if the anticipated 15-20% or whatever of offense plays thing is true. It makes far more sense to rotate a guy like Hill in the game than it does to sub in Winston.

Overpaying running backs is often a bad idea.

Y'all are crazy if y'all don't think they will try and sign kamara
Just tell me this as far as taysom, why would they give him the extra money and year if they didn't have Intel telling them he could get that elsewhere

No shite
I just said why would they give him the money of they didn't have Intel from other teams-agents saying he could get something similar

I think the saints are paying on what he Might be as a qb
This contract was not just for Jack of all trades
He will get an opportunity to start once drew is gone

You don't think taysoms agent knows what his player could get on the open market

Agents and gms talk
Has nothing to do with restricted free agency

After he played out the rfa tender
His agent was talking with other teams
You don't think his agent talked with Loomis about what he thinks taysom is worth
How do you think they figure these things out

Yeah it's not a stretch to think some teams said IF we extend an offer sheet, it might be for x amount, with a wink/nod knowing they wouldn't give up a first but would offer that once hit did hit free agency.

Has this been posted yet?

quote:

"It really probably won't be too much different than last year," Saints assistant general manager Jeff Ireland said Monday on ESPN Central Texas' Matt Mosley Show. "We feel like [Hill] can start in the league at some point when it's his turn, and that's obviously why we invested in him. But we also need a No. 2 to really utilize [Hill's] skill set and his upside to the full extent of his ability. ... We can't do those things [with Hill] if we don't have a solid No. 2."
