How much dead money would we eat if Jordan, Ram, Mike Thomas were cut, retired or traded. Are we seriously stuck with restructuring AGAIN and extending contracts for underperforming players? And what do you do with Davis? He's playing well but almost 35 years old.

Do we kick the can down the road again for Kamera, Latimore, Taysom, McCoy? Also, if we cut Winston and Peat, arent there a load of dead money there?

Man, we're screwed

We have no valuable trade pieces other than rookies or players still on rookie deals.

Sucks but all those restructures over the last two years are albatrosses. Even the players that are good enough to trade no one will because of their contracts.

Only if ownership is being negligent and allows our GM to think we are still in win now mode.

We shouldn't, but we probably will

Peat is starting, playing well enough
Davis is playing at a high level
Winston isn’t even under contract
Jordan is injured and will get better
Thomas is on a 1 year deal

Yet you people continue to cry and melt every year about the cap

There is absolutely no way to cut Cam. That contract was ssoooooo stupid

Ram you cannot cut till after 24. Same for pretty much everyone.

If the saints had cap room maybe but with being $88M over its impossible.

Christ.

Maybe we should just not field a team for a year or 2 while we pay off all our debt and start from scratch.

Because we dig ourselves deeper and are getting worse as a team.

You don’t know shite if you think it’s not a big deal. Loomis is just pushing numbers 4-5 years into the future with no end in sight.

It’s costing us the actual young hood talent we draft while we fill in with older over the hill vets that are cheaper.

We could cut every player on the roster that would generate a positive cap hit from the cut and we would still be $50M over the cap

We MUST restructure in order to get cap compliant. It is not optional.

Exactly.

The chickens have to come home to roost at some point. We’re headed for a year like Carolina eventually.

Loomis is trying to postpone it. But you only sacrifice cap hell when you’re only a few pieces away from a Super Bowl.

We’re waaaaaay too far from that with this aging roster batting 500. You can’t buy a SB with this team.

IMO, it is better to not have cap space since we always overpay for vets that suck.
