Saints tried to trade up for Horn or Surtain

Despite reports that we tried to trade up for Mac, Payton confirms that we attempted to trade up but for Horn or Surtain.

This makes me think that Lattimore is pricing himself out of range. That and they see the problems off the field are a big deal

Seems we tried moving into the top 10 for Horn or Surtain. The price was too steep. After that attempt supposedly we had a deal in place to move to number 16 to pick Mac, but the pats took him at 15 right before. So we tried to move up for CB and QB. Not one or the other

Just thought it was interesting because other reports said we were targeting Mac. This doesn't completely say that was false but interesting Payton specified the players.

Why would this make you think lattimore is pricing himself out? Couldn’t this simply be that they have a massive hole in the other side at corner?

What is Lattimores price range? I think he is pretty overrated by many on this board. He is highly inconsistent and was one of the worst cb's in the league for half the season last year.

I've heard it thrown around that they wanted another elite corner in case they wanted to trade lattimore.
