we could hire the ghost of bill walsh it would make zero difference.
unless loomis changes his ways and fixes his frickups so a correct tear down and rebuild can occur it does not matter
keep thinking "this" coach or "that" coach can make chicken salad out chicken shite WITHOUT loomis changing. You are all in the bargaining stage now.

I think McCarthy is just going through the motions at this point in his coaching career. It's been a long time since I have seen him act with any real enthusiasm that could motivate players to play for more than a check.

Payton won a super bowl and took us to the playoffs nine times with Loomis as GM. A guy like McCarthy that would have a say (and has earned his say) in roster management would be ideal.

I agree. I don't believe this team can win in the next 2 years BUT, if we don't have serious injuries and get 3 quality starters this draft and next, a coach like McCarthy can make a difference.
I know. Ifs and buts are cherries and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas.
