No you have to do both. When we won Super Bowl, quite a few or our most important players were not drafted by the team. You just have to sign/trade for the right players.

they'll wait until after the draft to make this call. Might need him if we dont have the DB depth.

Cleveland Defense and our defense are very, very similar.

I tend to agree that he's not worth the risk of his salary.

We were number 1 with people on the IR this year, I hope we don't sign another potential candidate.

No thanks. Lets not overspend, find a cheaper option or grab one mid rounds in the draft

I mean a 6th rounder or something, sure I'd do it. Anything top 4 and its a big NOPE. I rather spend the 10mil+whatever else we need to chase after gilmore or bouye

Agree.. I don't want to spend 10mil a year on a guy who looks like the green alien from space jam

Seriously though, I feel like 10 million + a year would be better off spent elsewhere... wouldn't hate it though

I would love it at the right price.

Anything more than a 5th or 6th is too much considering we can spend some $$ on a legit CB like Trumaine Johnson, Stephon Gilmore or AJ Bouye.

Still, if it's a 6th this year and next year's 5th...I would do it.

said we were in a good spot drafting ahead of Cleveland in the 1st round and they will probably be eyeing Watson.

Trade: Saints get Haden, and the #12 pick.
Browns get #11 pick and the Saints 3rd round

giving up a 3rd for haden? That's way too expensive for our void + having to spend 10mil for him

I would hate that trade

No way is Haden worth a 3rd. Plus, Watson will be gone by then. But I like the idea of it

Absolutely not.

So the Browns get to:

Move up in the 1st
3rd round pick
Dump the worst contract on their team

Saints get:
A player who just had surgery and due 10 million/year

I'd melt

We can find much better value in FA at that cost while addressing needs (like Guard) in the 3rd

We always go after these type of declining players wtf is wrong with this organization

I trust Glenn to bring him back to form if we get him though.
