Saints Talk Big Draft Board

I think we should make a list of our top targets for the 16th and 19th picks. And maybe some of the guys will still be there at 49. Would be nice to have an aggregate to see who all our resident GMs wants the Saints to draft and then maybe be able to check back in after the draft or even a few years later to see how their careers turned out.
I think we should all list the top 20 players we want (since we pick 16 and 19 making a top 5 or 10 may not make sense). Then after you post your top 20 I can make an aggregate list with weighted values to make a Saints Talk Big Board.
THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT. Do not list players where you think they will go. I only want the players you want us to draft in the first round in order. I will essentially give 20pts to your #1, 19 to #2, ...2pt to #19, 1pt to #20 to make the Big Board. If there are guys going top 5 that you would not want, don't put them on your board. Simple.

Jameson Williams
Drake London
Treylon Burks
Chris Olave
Evan Neal
Charles Cross
Trevor Penning
Tyler Linderbaum
Ikem Ekwonu
Travon Walker
Jordan Davis
Nakobe Dean
Devin Lloyd

My board.
1. Aidan Hutchinson DE Michigan
2. Kayvon Thibodeaux DE Oregon
3. Garrett Wilson WR Ohio State
4. Evan Neal OT Alabama
5. Ikem Ekwonu OT NC State
6. Chris Olave WR Ohio State
7. Charles Cross OT Mississippi State
8. Travon Walker DE Georgia
9. Drake London WR USC
10. Derrick Stingley Jr CB LSU
11. Sauce Gardner CB Cincinnati
12. Trevor Penning OT Northern Iowa
13. Jameson Williams WR Alabama
14. Jermaine Johnson II DE Florida State
15. Kyle Hamilton S Notre Dame
16. Jordan Davis DT Georgia
17. Treylon Burks WR Arkansas
18. Christian Watson WR North Dakota State
19. Zion Johnson G Boston College
20. Trent McDuffie CB Washington
Personally, I am weighing our need of WR pretty highly (maybe too much so). I will be upset if we don't draft one with either first. But with that said, I think there are a lot of good D and O lineman that I would be very happy with as well. Some good names not on the list. I really don't want to use our first round picks on any of the QBs...maybe at 49. But not with all these talented linemen and WR/CBs on the board.

The interesting question to me is if the Saints are that low on all QB options to not have one guy somewhere in their top 20 board.
Posted on 4/18/22 at 9:36 am to Chad504boy
I am pretty sure the Saints have one on their board. I just don't have one on mine. I would take all 20 of these guys over any QB in this class.

Theres no way you rank G Wilson and London over Stingley, Gardner or Hamilton on any big board.

I can see a draft where we Hamilton and Jordan Davis and the board implodes.

WR, OT, or if a DT, CB, safety etc fall that we absolutely love. Just not a qb

Sure there is you do it like this
Need = WR
Not a need = CB

I'd be okay with either of those if top 4 WR and T are all off the board. If they aren't then well I may implode also

We don’t need a defensive lineman.
I hope they trade down with one of these first rd picks to pick up an extra pick somewhere down the line this year or next year

You really think teams set Draft Boards at need?
Posted on 4/18/22 at 3:07 pm to Double Oh
That would completely nullify the point of us trading for an extra pick this year

...no shite. I literally listed the top 5 prospects in the draft on my list.
That is the whole point of making a top 20 list. At least 5 of these guys will be there at 16. I just wanted to get a pulse on where you guys had certain players. If you want to list 10 WRs in your top 20 go ahead. I don't recommend not including the elite prospects on your list just because you don't think they will be there.

If I'm the Saints I'm taking Jordan Davis if he is there at 16.
There is no way you don't take him. He is 1 of those guys that change game plans.
U win Superbowls with trench players like him. Drew and Tom both hated inside pressure the most.
Think Danold but much bigger.

Nothing matters until we get a championship quarterback. Can’t win or compete for a championship with Winston or Dalton. Not gonna happen. Everyone can dream and make picks for the draft, but we don’t have a QB. End of story. Saints will be middle of the pack.

Davis is not remotely comparable to Donald if that’s who you’re trying to say. I’m not saying Davis won’t be a good player but Donald and him are completely different in terms of size and what their strengths are.
Plus Donald is already an all time great defensive player. Insanely high bar to compare someone to. It’s like saying some QB is going to be the next P. Manning
If you want a comparison to a good and current player, Vita Vea would be a little better. Though Davis is even more athletic
