Saints Take Brandon Aiyuk WR Arizona State with 1st Pick

Justin Jefferson will be gone by the time the Saints make their selection. He can play the slot, and take the top off the defense. He's a threat anytime he has the ball in his hands. The Saints can go spread offense whenever they wish with M. Thomas, E. Sanders, B. Aiyuk, J. Cook, and A. Kamara out of the back field

I Think it is possible that Jefferson is still on the board for the saints pick. It will be hit or miss. I think philly is the team that may very well take him but I think it is just as likely that they would take Ruggs if he is available. Carson is good at throwing the deep ball and having that threat opens up their offense. This was noticed when desean Jackson got hurt. They have their two stellar tight ends to catch the short to intermediate routes. Lastly, if JJ, Lamb, and Jeudy are all off the board then we should go another position since we locked up Emanuel Sanders for next year

Latest mock drafts have the Eagles and 49ers taking Jefferson. He won't be there for the Saints at the 24th pick.

It’s a mock draft. Not what’s going to happen exactly. Jefferson could very well be there at 24. You never know what can happen in the draft.

His recent surgery should nudge him down the board a bit, so he should be available (I agree that Jefferson may be a moot point as he may go before our pick).
I lean slightly towards going WR over, say, LB at that pick. Give Brees all the weapons he can want this year, and sets the table well for the next QB.

With the Sanders signing, would be surprised if we go WR in the first. I like Aiyuk, and think the Saints are pretty high on him. Doubt he last to the third, so would have to move up to have a shot. I would be fine with that too.
