Young TE hasn't been a threat in the passing game but has been a very effective blocker and worked with Moore in Philly.

He’s blocking TE. Played for Kellen with the Eagles.

To be fair, we did need a good blocking TE and ML has commented that we would add 2 TEs.

Not saying I wanted him or not, but I think this all but ensures Tyler Warren will not be the pick at 9.

maybe slightly less likely but i don't agree it eliminates the need. Moreau and Taysom are both cuttable. Hell, taysom may not even be active roster at beginning of year. Warren is a versatile taysom like piece that can line up all over. Stoll, Moreau, and Taysom are all on last yr or 1 yr deals.

Moreau/Hill coming off injuries also.

Most on here dont watch games. This is proven.

Moreau got his leg hurt in the season finale, and had surgery this offseason, and bewteen JJ and him, it always made sense that if we dropped on it would be Foster, since they were both making about 6 mill a year.

I think Moreau is the odd man out if we go with a TE in the draft. Moreau is the walking definition of an average TE. I don't count Taysom in there, as even if he is back, he is not part of the future and who the hell knows what position they will actually play him in 2025.

He is coming off offseason knee surgery after getting hurt in the last game of the year.

For the non watchers Moreau was literally carted off the field in the season finale against the Bucs.

I love how noone is mentioning this. Never more proof that alot of ya’ll dont actually watch the football games.

He is/was/has been the likely odd man out, if anyone.

Either that or a reduced salary.

I don't think it says that at all.

I think it further sets up Moore to draft the BPA at #9 which may or may not be Warren.

The one thing I can appreciate about ML's approach to FA over the years.

There is never an ABSOLUTE need going into the draft. There's always some form of a body, how good is left to be desired at times (sometimes too old, washed, etc; sometimes high upside low floor). This is one of those, "okay we need a blocking TE and ST. This guy is it. cheap, next move"

The bigger concern is still how we go after/during the draft, sometimes we get too cute.

I've mentioned it several times.

Both Hill and Moreau had significant knee injuries at late in the season (Moreau on Jan 5th and Hill on Dec 1st)

Average recovery time for surgical repaired knees is 9-12 months for NFL athletes.

Foster will be 28 at the start of the season which is in his favor but Hill will turn 35 in Aug.

I would expect Moreau to return sometime mid season but I do not hold out much hope the Hill will return at the same level of play he had had for the Saints. If I'm wrong it's langappe but IMO the Saints shouldn't count on Hill at all this season or ever again for that matter.

You are one of the few the entire JJ resign thread/debate completely ignores the fact that Moreau/Hill were badly injured last season.

Not sure what you mean but that.

but my stance on JJ is that while I do not like the re-signing I understand it as insurance because of the injuries ot FM and TH. I also stated that I did not believe they team would go into the season expecting JJ to be their #1 TE. (i.e. TE could likely be a high priority ar #9 if Warren is there.)

I still stand by those statements.

Then shut up.

I did, because I love sports. Why wouldnt you want to see how Rattler looked with a few starters for once?

The posters on this board I swear.

I mean that very few on here are actually aware that Moreau blew out his leg last year, etc, and clearly we wont be counting on him.

Not resigning JJ leaves us with zero tight ends next year etc.

This is what I'm curious about. I like Warren alot at #9. Does this mean its not going to happen?

I think Warren will have lots of success in the league and we a receiving threat at TE.
